Entering into the lower level of the restaurant there is an “old house” odor. Upon making it upstairs you're greeted with crafty/stuffed old ladies...kinda odd. The seating area was awkwardly quiet and despite being nearly empty they seated us right next to another couple. Food was pretty good, especially the empanadas. The filet mignon burger was good but extremely salty. Not sure we'll return.
Piropos is a true Kansas City gem! There is a good reason Travis K wanted to bring Taylor S here on a special date. The atmosphere is great; fun, interesting, uniquely classy but comfortable; the wonderful and charming owner's special touch is seen everywhere! The food is always fresh and outstanding quality, from salads to sauces to seafood/fish and beyond! The service lines up as great as food and ambiance. PIROPOS is great as both a special date night in their dining room...
This was our first Easter brunch at Piropos. It was an outstanding experience! Kathryn was an outstanding server, cheerful and very efficient. The food was served hot and was excellent. The shrimp cocktail was cold and spicy. I may have had the best omelet ever.
