This place is SO delicious and prices are amazing for what you get! Everything we had was great. We did the 1/2 chicken and rib platter with 3 sides and a bowl of pozole. It was more than enough food and everything was delicious. Sauces were all great too! Loved the habanero sauce!

Yum-o!!! We decided to have take out with them today and it was a great decision on our part! If you're looking for a fun family meal, this is it!!!! The whole chicken package was plenty for a meal for both of us. The side dishes is bonus on the side, so tasty! Chicken is perfectly cooked, very juicy!!! The sauces and condiments to go on top of the flour tortillas is great too. We will definitely go back!

Damn this food is fine. I'm not really even sure where to begin. The first time I went to Poi-o it was at their original location closer to SWBLVD. During or around Covid I know they had to shut down and then reopened at this location in KCK. The first time I went I was spellbound by how this spot takes a Mexican spin on BBQ a la El Pollo Rey and elevates it into something really special. No shade on El Pollo Rey - I love them too, but this just takes it to a new level. In their first iteration they had killer sides (the elote was and is fire), great sauces, and amazing smoked chicken. They still have all of those things but even more. I would have never thought to order ribs at Poi-O but I was at a meeting and myself and some colleagues split a big platter and while I thought I came here for the chicken the ribs were a game changer. Honestly, I'm still dreaming about this meal. There wasn't a side or a meat that wasn't cooked to perfection. To make it even better they have a drive thru! Now, at least for me this spot is a bit off the beaten path but it's so good I hope to go back more frequently. Run don't walk to Poi-o!

Fresh, delicious, and fast! Love it every time I come here. I'm addicted to the rice bowl. The nachos are BOMB as well!!

I wanted to give this place 4 stars, it probably deserves 2 so I landed on 3. Maaaaaybe time of day matters?!?! But should the time of a visit really be the determining factor on if you get good food or not? I don't really think so. And, 6pm isn't that late when they close at 9. The carnitas were amazing. The tortillas were pretty darn good. The chicken was ok and everything else was a big ol' shrug. Except...The mac and cheese was the worst. You know that nasty ballpark nacho "cheese" you get in little packets at a little league game or the stuff that comes in giant cans at Costco? Yep, that's the cheese. They ladle that crap on top of overcooked macaroni. Just horrible. I didn't know you could make mac and cheese so bad but it turns out the boxed stuff is a sheer delight compared to this.Overall, it felt like they were just buying time until they locked up and went home. Things tasted left over and they were out of several items. It was a pretty disappointing showing for KC Restaurant Week.

Amazing food. Pretty decent service, clean welcoming and brightly present and tables. Not only do they have Mexican barbecue but they have vegetarian Iran's and they taste really good! The sauce is behind the counter always top notch. I've had a pretty positive experience every time I've gone here and I will continue to return as long as that stays. 5 stars

I ordered the jackfruit bbq sandwich & a side of charred carrots, & it was the best lunch I’ve had in a long time! I was trying to save half for later, but it tasted too good! Definitely recommend this place & I wish I was closer to come more often.

Tried this place for the first time at about 7 PM last night. Ordered the mixed meat box ~$25 and it was enough for my wife and I to split. The meats were very tender and moist enough, for coming out of the food warmer, but lots of flavor. The lemon pepper potatoes and elotes were very good. Definitely want to go back and dine in for the full experience.

This place is delicious. The sides were unique. I tried the broccoli, carrots, and potatoes. If you love veggies, you love the sides. I also tried the carnitas/pulled pork and chicken. Definitely recommend this place. There’s both indoor and outdoor seatings.

Delicious food, nice restaurant space. Inside dining area has four tables, but a long bar style window table. Has a small outside dining area too. There's a convenient drive-thru. Chose the pork plate with the potato sides, great flavor!Vegetarian options: They have a veggie jackfruit option.Parking: Large amount of parking for the building.Wheelchair accessibility: Single level, ground floor. Doors are a bit heavy, but outside dining area is on same level.

This place is truly unique and delicious! Last time we had a platter and this time we did the trio and wow and oh my! Great flavor, true fire roasted and well seasoned everything! Pulled pork, ribs, chicken, even the broccoli is a hit! The lemon pepper potatoes are phenomenal! We also had poblano mac n cheese and just yum on everything! New favorites at Poio! Kudos to the boys at Poio!

Traveling through the city and stopped by for food because of the review. The cashier was super nice and talked us through what was good. The sauce were pretty good too. I saw mixed reviews about their chicken, so we got pork carnitas and it was really good! I love the idea of the kimchi, fried rice, and pork carnitas. If I ever travel by again, I'd surely stop by.

Who would have thought a restaurant that takes over a building that used house Subway building and turn it into such wonderful place to enjoy true Mexican cuisine! No tex- mex. I highly recommend this fantastic find!
