Great food and beautifully laid out restaurant! Server was very knowledgeable and we even order the wrong app and they got us the right one and let us keep the other.

Went for anniversary dinner, wasn't a warm welcome. The food was overpriced and not seasoned well. The waitress wasn't very tentative she said have a Happy Birthday. Drinks were not refilled, had to ask. Didn't quite like this place.

We were visiting KC and went to dinner here on a Saturday night without a reservation at about 5:30-6. We sat at the bar (by choice) and the bartenders were really friendly. They made an excellent old fashioned and a great whiskey sour. We ate bread, deviled eggs, and pork rinds for appetizers. The bread was fresh. The eggs were so flavorful and the pork rinds were perfectly seasoned and piping hot. We shared the half chicken and some Brussels sprouts and fries as sides. The chicken was juicy and with the house made hot sauce and gravy on top it was so good. I know I’ve said tons of good things already but hands down the best thing we ate was the mokan pie. Best pie ever!!!! We bought a trillion cookies and a cookbook to take home. We eat out ALOT and I fancy myself a bit of a home chef. This place was perfect if you are looking for a laid back spot with fresh chef made unpretentious food, bartenders that know their drinks, and amazing dessert! DO NOT SKIP DESSERT!!

Went for a celebration and had a good time with the people who were with us. However service was very slow and food was not as good as I remember in the past. (Especially for the prices, we were disappointed) We used to come here all the time and loved it, I’m scared it’s gone downhill recently.

We brought family in from out of town a few weeks back and decided to bring them here for dinner. This was our first time at Rye on the plaza, but we’ve been to Rye in Leawood many times. The food was just not good. The chicken was not worth eating and my wife and I left most of it on our plates. The Brussels sprout side dish my wife had was disgusting. The mashed potatoes are the only thing that I had positive words for. The service was slow and inattentive. I expect better food and service for the premium price. It’s a good thing we had reservations at Prime Social so we could end the night on a high. I wouldn’t recommend this Rye location if this is what we can expect.

We had a wonderful dinner. 8 had the shrimp & grits, which were delicious. My date had the chicken and dumplings and loved it. Our waiter did a terrific job taking care of us. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I'd say this is was an upscale dining experience, but not overly expensive.

I was disappointed. We got the basket of fresh baked Parker house rolls. I could have gone to the grocery store for some plain dinner rolls. Nothing special. The brussel sprouts were basically raw. The chicken livers and gizzards were delicious!!!!!

This gem is worth a visit if you’re in Kansas City! They take comfort food to a whole other level that will leave your tastes buds happy and your stomach full. I couldn’t get enough of the chicken and dumplings, which paired deliciously with their spritz. Staff could people more friendly, but overall the experience was good.

My experience at the Rye was amazing food really good and our server girl was absolutely amazing but one of the managers Jody I believe his name was absolutely mean to the server I heard her ask kindly to leave her alone but he kept on bullying her undeserved. I will not be visiting Rye anymore because young women shouldn't be treated that way. The management at the Rye should do something about harassments from this person. I also don't believe customers should witness this kind of behavior.

Service was oddly slow and the bartender would disappear for extended periods of time. I'd also prefer he didn't use his finger to hold back the ice cube when pouring out water from the glass. Fried chicken came out quick but was dry unfortunately.
