This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town. I didn’t get to come more than a couple of times a year, but every visit was a treat. It had been about 3–4 years since my last visit, and I was genuinely excited to return.

Unfortunately, that excitement didn’t last long. In that time, prices have nearly doubled, something I was prepared for, but the quality has plummeted. The service was still friendly and attentive, but the food was shockingly bad for the cost.

My drink had an overpowering taste of lighter fluid. The chicken, once my favorite item on the menu, was completely bland and flavorless. While it wasn’t overcooked, parts were borderline underdone, and the entire plate lacked seasoning or character.

Expect to pay $60–$80 per person for an entrée, side, and drink (after tax and tip). If the food still had its former quality, that price, though steep, might have been worth it. Now, I wouldn’t pay the old prices for what I was served. I won’t be returning.

I was in last night and my server Alex was just great! The host was super nice and flexible when we wanted a different table, didn’t get her name but she was the nicest!

We had a mixed bag with our food but our service was bad this night. The cost of the food is high enough that getting one refill of soda or getting all the items you order wouldn’t be an issue. The restaurant was half full at the time. We came here for a birthday and were disappointed in the meal. Would not come here again for an event and can not justify the price for how our group serviced.

Wanted a side from another menu item which I was happy to pay for and was told no. They are servings for 2 in each individual pre made just for that entree. They are not busy, it is late so probably won’t use it all before closing. Terrible. Service was awful. So was most of food. Goat cheese heirloom tart was all crust & tomatoes. The so called pickles are cucumbers sprinkled with vinegar. Ham gravy tasted like raw flour as did the breading on the fried chicken wing. The breading on the breast was good but all I. All I have had much better fried chicken. Never got salad I ordered. Deviled eggs gritty & leave an after taste that is unpleasant The honey goat cheese dip was the best thing we were served. Couldn’t get a side of collard greens even though it was late because it was a side for another dish even though I was willing to pay for it. They really don’t seem to have good customer service.

I visited this restaurant for a birthday dinner and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. The service was lacking—our server was neither friendly nor helpful, and it took over 30 minutes just to place our order. Additionally, the server was unable to answer basic questions about the menu.
The vegetarian options were very limited, and when we inquired about ordering a vegetarian side, the request was declined, even when we offered to pay extra. Overall, the staff appeared unapproachable and unaccommodating.

My family and I will never return to this establishment and, given the excellent dining choices in Kansas City, I highly recommend skipping this one.

Sitting in the restaurant now for my birthday with a party of 7. We just added a SIDE of collard greens and they told us no, it had to come with a meal. Mind you this was an add on after 7 full meals. HORRIBLE service and management we will never be back. Don’t waste your time.

My order was: Fried Chicken, Town Square, Whipped Goat Cheese, Wings, Mashed Potatoes, and Creamed Corn.

It was a hot and humid day and I stopped in just for a drink and a couple glasses of water. I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. She played an LP, which was fun. The bar area was nice and there were many gathered there for happy hour. They have sweet treats there too which looked delicious.

We had a great family dinner, and the staff did a great job serving our 10+ group. The location on the Plaza provides an impressive atmosphere.

We had reservations for Father's Day. We ordered 3 of the BBQ Specials, kids Mac-n-cheese, a whiskey, glass of wine and a Mr Pibb. The kids meal tasted like it came out of a box and the BBQ Specials tasted as if it was prepared in the morning and spent 12 hrs under the heat lamp- BBQ is definitely not their forte. The manager that spoke with us was nice and asked if we wanted something else, having a toddler with us, we didn't want to wait for another order. We sent all 3 meals back, untouched. After waiting 20 minutes for the check, I saw that we were given a 50% discount for the 3 uneaten meals. For 3 drinks, a kids meal and the discount out our bill was $120. I expected that the food that was sent back and thrown away would have been compensated 100%. Not to mention we still had to buy another dinner elsewhere afterwards. Very disappointed in the whole experience- if you are not satisfied you will not be compensated fairly, we definitely won't be going back.
