Skip all the other chain restaurants on the plaza and hit Rye. Locally owned and located on the country club plaza, Rye is one of the best restaurants in Kansas City. Whether you like cocktails, pie, fried chicken, pastries, or a great steak, this place has it all. One of my favorite atmospheres in Kansas City, top notch service, and food that will want you coming back for more. Bourbon drinker? They have one of the best selections of bourbon in the city. I promise you will not be disappointed after visiting Rye.

The service was great! Everything I ate was dry including the eggs and sausage. The Bellini was delicious though. I have been here before and loved the cinnamon roll, but they were out. Also, they fried my hashbrown in the same oil as they fried fish I think. My hash brown tasted like fish. 😕

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Rye Plaza! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a wonderful evening.
I ordered the duck breast with pear salad and spätzle, and every bite was a delight. The duck was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The pear salad added a refreshing sweetness that complemented the richness of the duck beautifully. And the spätzle? Light, buttery, and full of flavor—an excellent side that tied everything together.
Service was impeccable as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making thoughtful recommendations and ensuring everything was perfect.
I can’t wait to return and try more from their menu. If you’re looking for a place with exceptional food, great service, and a cozy ambiance, Rye Plaza is a must-visit

Waiter was wonderful. Very cute atmosphere. Food left a lot to be desired, especially for the cost. Caesar salad tasted like vinegar, so did the Brussel sprouts. Steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. Seasoning on steak minimal to none.

Overpriced is an understatement anyone who wants to charge over $80 for a $12 steak is going to have to bring a lot more to the table than some kitch and some under pickled pickles.
Added a start for the drinks, only thing on the menu worth the price.
Yesterday was my first time ever going to Rye Plaza, and I was truly blown away with the atmosphere, food, and our AMAZING Waitress. She was very polite, patient and she served my family of 6 with a smile. In this time of everyone's life, we all need a smile with so much going on. My family and I was able to enjoy ourselves with love, laughter, and joy 😊
Kid-friendliness: They are very patient with the little ones when they can't decide what they want from the delicious menu.

Rye is the perfect lunch spot for gathering with friends! The menu has such a great variety of fresh, flavorful options that everyone can enjoy. The atmosphere is casual yet inviting, making it a comfortable place to relax and catch up over a delicious meal. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe is perfect for a laid-back yet elevated dining experience. Whether you're there for a quick bite or a leisurely lunch, Rye never disappoints. It's definitely a go-to spot for lunch with friends!

I went there strictly because I heard the pie was awesome. I ordered the Chocolate Mokan and it was horrible. It had no flavor, the only piece of chocolate pie I've ever had that didn't taste like chocolate, it was dry and hard hard. It looked like a turd that had been molded into a shape of a piece of pie with added peanuts. Tippins chocolate pie at Price Choppers is 100% better than the chocolate pie at this restaurant. If I could give it zero Stars I would.

Food was good, but service not so much. Ordered an after dinner drink (Amaro) instead of dessert, 3 times, and eventually it was evident they had no intention of serving it. Oh well, there’s plenty of other choices in KC for next time.
