I’ve eaten here once or twice with no problems, but the last time I went ruined it for me. The woman taking my order refused to speak anything but Spanish to me, despite me not responding in Spanish. I have brown skin and am mistaken for a Spanish-speaker all the time. People normally realize when I don’t respond in Spanish that they made a mistake. Not here. She just kept responding to my questions in Spanish, despite my clear confusion and frustration. When we managed to...

Loved the falafel, they are small and soft inside almost like chicken nuggets. Pita didnt seem super fresh but it was warm. Baklava was also good, maybe a little dry, but overall for the price I was very satisfied.

as a vegetarian, the Linwood location is one of the only fast food places in KC that i am fiercely loyal to! i’ve never had a meal from here that wasn’t exceptional and the owner and staff are always friendly. :) the falafel wraps and the falafel bowl are both super delicious and the portions are always great for what they charge. shawarmar is an awesome spot for vegetarians, vegans, and omnivores.
