I have lived in the area for 8 years, but I have never visited south of Summit before. Each of my three tacos was incredible. I had the fish, the mushroom, and the chicken. Not only were they loaded, but they were delicious. And their chips just might be the best of any place I've been in Kansas

Ordered a Birria Taco, and a Steak taco. As another review said, the meat was extremely tender… however it was missing any flavor. The birria had some flavor to it, so I can see what they were trying to do with that. However, the steak taco had absolutely no flavor. The waitress was friendly which is the only reason I’m giving it more than 1 star.

Food was pretty good, they have great chips and the al pastor taco was pretty tasty. Our service was slow, but other tables with different servers seemed fine. Menu is a little confusing regarding the taco platters, it states that the taco platter is two tacos plus rice and beans, and then there are prices listed for individual tacos and platters. We each said we wanted the platter, so we ordered two different tacos and one of us wanted no rice and the other wanted no beans. Our server neglected to tell us that the platter price is only for one type of taco, so we were charged a la carte for each taco plus the two sides. Not a huge deal, but if we had known that we wouldn't have ordered two sides and saved a few bucks. Overall it wasn't bad, but the service and communication could have been better.

Waited for 10 mins for a table, then Sat for 16 mins at a table without someone coming to take either food or drink order. We ended up walking out and freeing up the table for other parties. Might have been a fluke but for a spot with 5 dollar tacos you'd hope for some decent hospitality.

This is by far my favorite Hispanic place! I love the ambiance, they play good music, like actual Spanish music. From bad bunny to Vincente it's a vibe with the candles. They have the best salsa and drinks. I recommend happy hour! Ya tu sabes! I have been and will be coming back here.

Only ever had this for takeout, but it's good. I feel like their tacos are absolutely loaded up, and all things considered, the price feels right. Their Al Pastor have been a go-to (pork, pineapple, cilantro, onion, radish, corn tortilla) and again they are gigantic! Two is easily enough, for about $10. They also have tasty guac and queso, if you're into that kind of thing (who isn't?)This spot is definitely more of the "Tex-Mex" variety and has a ton of crowd pleasers. I feel like maybe I should actually go in here and eat sometime, but it also does just fine as delivery.

First time in, came for happy hour, but stayed later for dessert. Drinks were good, staff friendly, the tacos were great! The prickly pear margarita is my new favorite..

I enjoy the environment and the customer service. This is my second time eating South of Summit. The first time my birria tacos were so full of flavor and I decided to actually visit the restaurant. This time the tacos had a lot of meat, barely any cheese and no flavor. I had to make sure it was the same place I ordered from when I first moved to KC. I liked the vibe and will probably be back but not for the birria. The queso and salsa are really good.
