Great food, nice and clean seating area and super nice staff whom I'm guessing are all somehow owners or something bc they are really extra great. Been here a couple of times and each time someone from in the kitchen has come out to ask how the food was, etc.

Kid-friendliness: Great for kids!

Had a craving for some Cajun food and this hit the spot. Everything had a nice level of heat and the shrimp were nicely cooked. Corn bread was sweet and tasty. Very reasonable prices for the portions.

I seen southern and instantly thought chicken, pork chops, Mac and cheese... American style foods.Pleasantly surprised that it gave New Orleans jambalaya, shrimp, fried Crawfish tails options. The food was great, served steaming hot and fresh, customer service wonderful, great options (fried or grilled on mostly everything). Worth the price, atmosphere was very laid back/ chill. Was my first time and I'll be back without a doubt. Only complaint would be give quarter slice lemons not slithers so can actually squeeze on fish/ seafood easier. But it worked out.

Rediscovered this gem. We hadn't visited in awhile but have no idea why. We've gotten takeout twice in the last couple weeks and both times the food was outstanding! Blackened Fish Po Boy is awesome. The hot chicken lives up to it's name and the Gumbo is terrific. Nice people, great food and a fair price. It's in our regular rotation for takeout from now on.

I and a friend got the sampler plate on Tuesday night and OH MY WORD! Amazing flavor, just enough heat. I had the gumbo, jambalaya, and shrimp étouffée with a side of mac & cheese. My friend got red beans and rice, crawfish étouffée, a corn dish and Mac and cheese. All were spectacular and I had enough left over for dinner the next day. Totally plan to go back there!

Food is not made fresh it is from box mixes. The customer service is horrible. The manager is rude to the customers as well as the employees. I paid $18 for my meal ended up throwing it in the trash it was that bad. Take a drive to Warrensburg Mo. Zydeco's . Everything is made fresh by the owner. He comes to your table to visit with you to make sure your meal is to your liking. Believe me it is worth the drive. Southern Kitchen will never be on my list of places to eat. Make sure not added to yours

The food was good. I wish the fish had a little more breading and a little crisper. The sandwich had a lot of the sausage and was cooked very well. I love the fact they have fried green tomatoes.

Too overpriced. We paid $60 for two meals but what you’re provided is not worth it. We got takeout and they gave us these very small cups that could hold maybe a few spoonfuls. Additionally the food wasn’t seasoned enough. Very bland. Not what I’ve previously experienced with cajun food

My son and I were looking for a quick lunch. Google mapped restaurants and a number of restaurants popped up. We eat out a lot. Southern Kitchen designates to me Fried chicken, etc. We drove up read a menu outside. The menu looked more like a New Orleans Louisiana menu. At this point we figured why not. I orderd Jambalaya and Gumbo Soup. When placing the order the cashier asked me if I wanted shrimp on both the Jamabalya and Gumbo Soup. I said yes not realizing I would be charged for the shrimp. Now this wasn't extra shrimp it was the only shrimp? If I had not said yes it would not have any shrimp. Once everything came out I knew I had made a mistake. The two dishes above should be filled with seafood. The shrimp I had paid for was sprinkled on top of both dishes. I tried to eat it and had to quit. We won't get into my sons sandwich. Total $47.50 before taxes and tip. The cashier was nice. The interior average. We won't be going back.

Delicious cajun-style southern dishes. Best cornbread I've ever tasted. Shrimp and grits to die for.

The food definitely had the amazing flavors of NOLA. Very true to its southern roots. A little disappointed that we had to order at the counter oppose to a server at the table considering the prices. With that said, food was worth it!

Picked up some food from here. We had 4 entrees and everything was very good! It is pricey though, for a fast casual restaurant. Maybe that's just what it takes for everything to taste good and be produced with great quality. The owner is nice.

We just noticed this restaurant for the first time today and decided to try it and boy were we happy that we did!The roast beef po' boy, fries, and beignets were FANTASTIC!!! I can't say enough about how good the food was, and the portions were HUGE!To top off the great food, the staff was extremely nice and the restaurant was clean and comfortable; we will definitely be returning and have already told others about it.

Good atmosphere, nice staff, and pretty clean restaurant. I ordered the shrimp and grits (comes with crumbled andouille sausage) with a side of Mac and cheese. The meal was flavorful, especially the sausage. The Mac and cheese wasn’t the best I have ever had but it was solid; especially for a fast casual business. Overall, for the price, it was a good meal. Definitely support this local business!

Authentic cajun food! The fried green tomatoes are crispy and the seasoned perfectly, the cornbread has just a touch of sweetness and the shrimp and grits, oh my lord it's so good! If you want to try some delicious food, head over to Southern Kitchen!
