Children’s Mercy Ophthalmology Clinic on Broadway gave my daughter her life back. She had a lazy eye and they suggested strabismus surgery at their Children’s Mercy Kansas campus in Overland Park KS. She had it done on January 14th 2026. We noticed after a week of her surgery she was not falling near as bad. Her depth perception is so much better. Dr. Allyson was amazing and referred us to her colleague Dr. Can who did my daughters procedure. I would 10/10 recommend this place for your children’s eye needs. They are very well educated and equipped for a lot of conditions!

I would honestly leave absolutely no stars other than the amazing nursing staff the doctors completely ignored any of my concerns. They didn’t want to run any of the test I requested, considering the fact that this was the second time my daughter had been admitted here. For not gaining very much weight she is a smaller baby. They were concerned about weight gain, but whenever I brought up legitimate concerns that could be related to the little to no weight gain, I was ignored and told that you just wanted to monitor how she was eating as if her eating fine as I told them and they told me three times that she eats fine was the problem when that is not the problem then they decided they were going to discharge me without running any test because she eats fine. I will no longer be seeing any of the specialist through this hospital as it seems to be nothing more then joke.

Could not imagine a better experience. I was very uncomfortable with my son’s symptoms and was immediately taken seriously. Everyone was empathetic, nice, efficient, and had excellent communication. The doctor and nurse not only did those things but provided me with education to prevent another “episode.” Extremely grateful for their professionalism and treatment of my baby.

We are beyond disappointed in your decision to no longer take all one marketplace insurance. That leaves us with a plan that costs as much as a mortgage with hardly any coverage. We have lost our pediatrician as well because they are an affiliate of children’s Mercy.

My son Nikolas was in the hospital for 5 days with a bone and blood infection. I can't not say enough about the ID team, orthopedics, doctor's, residents, Helen team, nurses, and even the volunteers! O and the puppies😍 They saved our boy and made his stay a little less sad with all they have for the kids. Thank you CMH. I'd never go anywhere else in a emergency. God bless you.

Ortho staff casted my daughters arm too tight we ended up going to the er to have it cut open a few days later due to her hand turning purple, er didn’t recast it , said ortho would have to which they didn’t. When we did have the whole cast removed weeks later it revealed skin damage caused from being so tight. I requested pt advocacy which did not come, dr said it was “normal” and I was sent home with 0 wound care having been done and blood all over my daughters shirt. But they gave us a donated squeaky dog toy to make up for it. Called multiple times to get ahold of patient advocacy and nothing was ever done, no calls returned. Staff was also extremely rude from the security staff we encountered when we walked in to clinic staff.

The line was so long 3 people working but one of them was constantly holding conversations with customers even after giving them their items. Very annoying. People had been waiting over 15 minutes for drinks. It didn't even seem to phase her that the line was growing. Not very many healthy options available for snacks or items for kids available. Pricing is higher than I would expect for a children's hospital. Maybe get one person to be just a cashier instead of to trying to multitask.

trash. if you have any options choose the other over this dump. filthy. bring your kid here of you want them to be test subjects and get staph infections. I have pictures. please message me I'll share. please take your kid anywhere but here. for the love of your kid... anywhere but here.

My 14 year old broke his arm orthopedics wouldn’t even look at him. They kept addressing my 19 year old daughter as his mom! Sent him home in the same sling he came in. Then I never received a call from orthopedics and when I tried to call whoever answered the phone was very rude and unpleasant. My son’s primary called about a follow up and guess who took over! A small town hospital of butler Missouri put this hospital and everything to shame. Thank god I was able to seek help elsewhere from a more competent PA that went above and beyond to make sure nothing else happens to his arm. While I wait on orthopedic doctor there!

My child has a major heart defect and the cardiology department is top notch. They care about their patients and always answer any and all questions parents have.

I’ve been here for 5hrs 45 min and my son STILL hasn’t been seen… Andrea, the charge nurse was in no way helpful or empathetic to our situation. My son is crying in pain and no one seems to want to help…

HORRIBLE. We were in a traumatic car accident and Children’s Mercy was were the children were sent for physical therapy and doctoring. they were refused care. not because of short staffing. not because of scheduling. not because of wait times. not because of being over booked. they were refused because we moved here from out of state. They told us unless one of our kids was born in the hospital (we moved from out of state so obviously not) that our children were NEVER allowed to use their hospital. PERIOD. we had two doctors and an attorney call to confirm the nonsense we were sharing. it was confirmed they will never ever see any children who were not previously seen or born there before 2021. So if you moved here…you will have to pay for tickets, hotels and stays OUT of state to get children’s hospital type medical care. Here they do not value anyone.
