Plenty of other reviews will tell you how excellent the food is. But this place shocks me with how standard their processes must be to deliver such a consistent product, ever time, no matter what day or who is working. That’s a mark of true excellence in the food industry.

We got the chicken katsu and chicken tempura, they were maybe the best restaurant food we have had since moving to Kirksville. Our little girls (1 & 4 yo) were a little antsy but staff worked with us, they were very nice.

Took my wife and daughter here for a date night and the staff was fantastic! Even though my toddler can be a bit of a mess, they were super kind to us, and the sushi is always amazing!
Kid-friendliness: The staff were super great to our toddler, despite her occasional messiness. Plus, as we were leaving they gave her a little candy rock stick, which was very kind.

Tempura and a very wide variety of sushi rolls. We tried Sunset something, I think. Had a bit of orange drizzle as I remember. It was Large roll, enough to share, with shrimp in it. It was good.

Hands down the BEST sushi I have ever had. Do not go here if you want all other sushi to taste bad. Every. single. day I crave this restaurant. Each time I am in Kirksville with a friend I recommend Bonzai. Their prices, quality, and atmosphere is unmatched. If you are a person for real customer service, go here. I will tell you, the service there is not super 'bubbly', but it fits the environment perfectly. Ever since my first visit here 2 years or so ago, I have been there numerous times since (I live an hour away).

I've eaten here many times,both take our and dine in. I absolutely love it! The price for the quality is reasonable and I love how simple the menu is. My favourite is the fire cracker, but be warned that it's very spicy! Great place for a date night, the only downside is the small room you wait in until they have a table / your to go order is ready.

It’s easy to be hesitant when eating at a sushi place that is new and not in your hometown or an area you are familiar with, but we heard lots of great things about it and the hype was true! It’s a small, cozy environment. Service was prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was exactly what we expected and the food was all top notch. We even tried the sake which was served in a traditional manner.Pictured is their Special Roll, but we also had the NYC Roll, Mt. Bonsai, and Firecracker Roll. The last was supposed to be their spiciest and it did have heat, but a good kind that doesn’t overpower the senses. Definitely plan to come back (assuming they are open since hours vary) the next time we are in town.
