“It was my first time at the Bar Louie in Kirkwood. We had a great time and experience at this location, much better than the Chesterfield location experience, which is closer to our house. I think it was so much better because of our bartender Kelsey. She was so great and so much fun! She checked on us regularly, made sure our drinks were never empty (which is a hard job when it comes to my husbands drinking), and was very knowledgeable of the menu. We will definitely make the extra drive to Kirkwood just so she can be our bartender!“
“The food at Duffy's is always good. The service wasn't as attentive as it has been in the past, but given it is St Pat's weekend the place was buzzing. The fish and chips was tasty, but the fish portion was small. The hush puppies were a nice bonus. Friends had the shrimp quesadilla and gave them 2 thumbs up. Also enjoyed the live music.“
“Place has a good atmosphere and really great service! Ashley the bartender there is phenomenal. She knows exactly what I drink as soon as she sees me. And as soon as I walk through the door and she says hey, she puts a beer at an open seat for me. She is always smiling and always attentive even when she’s running 100 mph. Makes stopping in for a beer or spending several hours with friends worth while when you have people like her!! Happy to see that someone still enjoys their job and the people they serve! Keep it up crossroads! And keep killing it Ashley!!!“
“Came on with no reservation and was sat right away. Amelia gave us wonderful and quick service but I feel she went above and beyond making multiple suggestions that made our experience even better. The staff was friendly and helpful, overall we enjoyed for a quick last minute weekday dinner!“
“Love this bar. Great little dive bar. Heather is a great bartender and the regular crowd is fun and chill. If there's a problem, it's being caused by someone that doesn't frequent the establishment. Drinks are cheap and the bathrooms are clean. I can't wait for the new patio to be open in the spring.“
“I love this place! Especially the bartender Chris! He is my absolute favorite: kind, wise and an exceptional bartender! Love hanging out here in the dark gothic historic bar. Thank you for a great time ~ Please note the worst reviews are like 100 years old!“
“If you like t-ravs- these are the best in town!.We have never had a sandwich we didn't love and even the meat packed pizza is yummy! George is a fantastic and fun bar tender, only to be outdown by his charming bride! The salad selection is a bit lacking, but the Mayfair dressing is delicious! It's a regular favorite!“
“Warning: heavy smoking in here. I'm not a big fan of that these days and I had no idea before I came that they'd allow that in here. Anyway, for a dive bar it's a decent spot, I've seen other reviews about the owner being rude but he was fine to me and the party I was with. This place is good for darts too, I think they have leagues here. Drinks are cheap and they prefer cash but they do take cars and I believe they add an additional charge on at the end (but you don't get a breakdown of prices so there's no way to really know). I won't return often only bc of the smoking but if that didn't bother me (and it was a bit closer), I'd return. If you're a smoker and a fan of dive bars then this should be a good place for you.“
“Love this place! Great people, low priced drinks, and some of their newest karaoke DJ, Lindsey, has the best sound system I've sang on in years. You can hear yourself perfectly and the sound is extremely well balanced.Ashby Pub still stands as my favorite local dive. Cathy makes this the most welcoming and friendly place you'll ever find. A diamond in the rough to be sure.“
“An establishment that is licensed to sell alcohol to be consumed on the premises; pub short for publik house. The term first appears late in the 17th century to differentiate inns, taverns, and alehouse that served alcohol from private houses that did not.“
“Murph has put together a bar that has a great sense of community. Every time I've been here I feel like everyone knows each other but they've also welcomed me into the group. The clientele seems to be pretty diverse and people are just looking to chill out and have a good time. The drinks are reasonably priced and they allow you to bring in food from outside. The fact there is a Dominos next door makes this outside food policy even better.Be sure to look the bar up on Facebook because they often have special events going on. For example tonight they had a pinball tournament going on in the back of the bar and a wrestling trivia night going on in the front. If you're a smoker they have two smoking areas outside, one in the front and one in the back.If you like pinball they have a wonderful collection of machines and they are all .75. These machines are all in excellent condition and you can tell that Murph is a fan of pinball.Parking: Lots of spots. It's a strip mall shared parking lot. I've never had a hard time parking here.Kid-friendliness: Kids are allowed until 730 (or something like that)Wheelchair accessibility: A few tables might need to be pushed over a bit but there should be no major issues getting a wheelchair into the building.“
“Writing this review just to shout out one employee in particular. This place is great anyway Reasonable pricing, great ambiance, good food, solid service. But tonight Hunter nailed it, quick on his feet, checked in just the right amount and super helpful and friendly.“
“PJ’s Tavern is a Kirkwood staple. Favorites are the pizza, quesadilla, bison burger, chicken tenders and club sandwich. Get a cup of potato soup as an app- amazing. We’ve been coming here for 20+ years because the food is great, the environment is a that of a familiar hometown pub and the service has always been excellent.“
