This El Maguey is absolutely stellar! Food is great but ALCOHOL IS UNREAL! I’ve never had a margarita slap so hard. I bring my boss and coworkers here to experience the El Maguey Buzz and they’re amazed! Every time I walk out the door I have to sit in my car for an hour before I drive… I swear there’s something magical in their margaritas! Great fun time!

Im handicap and recently lost my leg. I brought my service dog with me to get out of the house and enjoy lunch on the patio. Upon entering the overweight hostess asked if my dog was a service dog while starting at my prosthetic. I said yes and while waiting for my buddy to park several other of the employees we're starring at me. I felt uncomfortable so I left and we then called the 9 other people that were in their way to meet us. Clearly they are not a service dog friendly patio and they had plenty of seating. The only thing they've got going for them is the view. Everything else sucks

So my friends and I decided to go here for my 28TH birthday TODAY to get margaritas, which we were denied which has NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE HERE!!!! WE ARE ALL OVER 21 and we've been here before and had drinks, I didn't recognize the server he was probably 16-18 most likely new (I'm not blaming him one bit) so 3 others were looking at our id's and with a blacklight as well and the STUPID managers (female kind of heavy set) excuse was that it didn't show a picture on the back when they put the blacklight on it (mine showed) do we look younger than we are? Yes! But our IDS ARE VERY REAL!!! WE GOT OURS AT THE DMV AND THE LICENSE OFFICE, IF I WAS GOING TO LIE ABOUT MY AGE I WOULDN'T SAY I'M 28!!!!!! I'VE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. THIS MANAGER OWES ME AND MY FRIENDS AN APOLOGY FOR THINKING WE ARE LIARS!!!!! NEXT TIME I'M SHOWING A SCREENSHOT OF MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!! WE WERE ALWAYS SERVED ALCOHOL HERE, DO BETTER!!! Some of the other staff knows us and serves us ALCOHOL when they check our IDS. All the other times have been fine, not this one, this is the first time I've ever been denied alcohol, I turned 28 today February 25th, I've been over 21 for 7 YEARS NOW!!!!

Food was excellent. Staff was friendly but forgot to tell our server to come take care of us. The waitress didn't speak much English and seemed to try to make up for it by coming by every 3-5 minutes to ask how everything tasted. It got real weird.

All in all the food is great, which is why we always go back. Mainly for carry out. Occasionally, we'll dine in it's mainly carry out.I can't speak to all the menu items, but the Chicken Chimies are awesome. Which is what all three of us usually get.My wife recently started getting the Echalada Verde, and she loves them.As far as the service is concerned, we've only had a few issues out of, and I'll bet close to 30 visits there. Which forgetting something when you do carry out is a real drag. So, I kind of blame myself for not checking the bag, especially since it happened more than once. We always get a side of Queso Cheese dip, and it's been forgotten a couple of times.We're in Wentzville, and this location is in Lake St. Louis and traffic on Highway N at that time of day is terrible. I've only gone back to get it one time, and they gave me a larger amount. After that, though, I didn't go back to get it the next time due to traffic. My food was cold by the time I got back home the first time. As much as it still tastes great reheated, since I always have leftovers to take to work for lunch the next day. I prefer my food hot at the time I bring it home.Other than that, it's been a really great experience every time. The food is ready when they say it will be, even on busy nights with the dining room packed. Which is the main reason we do carry out. My wife and daughter do not like crowds and it's a popular place so it's usually crowded, especially on Fridays, which is when we normally get it. My wife gets a break from cooking dinner.Hope this helps you if you've never been there before and are wondering what it's like.I'll give it ??

I was there last night and the food and service were great! They’re under new management, and what a difference. I got the taco salad fajitas and the shell was filled to the top with lots of bite-size chicken, onions, peppers, cheese sauce, sour cream and avocado. Itwas really good! Everyone was actually working, not standing around talking. Most of the staff are new. They’re friendly and even SMILE! I can’t wait to go back.
