“We love coming to Shakin’. It is definitely a hidden gem. Sadly, tonight was a let down. We got here and there were several seats at the bar that we were told were supposedly “taken”. A large group came in and were told to take the seats. They were served quickly. We waited 15-20 minutes to even be acknowledged by the bar staff. Would have been nice to at least been welcomed and told be with you shortly. When the bartender finally made eye contact and came over, his excuse was “sorry, there’s only two of us!” We’ve been here when the place was packed and never experienced this service. We literally almost walked out. Miss the “old” bartenders who were attentive and quick to take care of customers.“

“I was dying to try an espresso martini while visiting from out of town. However, I had my toddler and baby with me—I didn’t want to bring family time to the bar so I quietly came in with my toddler (who needed to use the bathroom) and ordered an espresso martini to enjoy at the outdoor tables. Our fabulous bartender made an amazing espresso martini and also volunteered to make a “special lemonade” for our toddler. She was SO happy! *Disclaimer: this was in the early early evening so don’t let the toddler coming to use the bathroom deter you from an adult evening out. Great drink! Great vibes! Great service! “Located above Hand in Glove in downtown Lee’s Summit this hidden speakeasy is a cocktail gem you definitely need to try. Walked in without a reservation on a Friday night and got seated immediately. The cocktails were all uniquely crafted and absolutely delicious. The smoked vanilla old fashioned is a must try, one of the favorite cocktails in Kansas City. The bartender and manager were very accommodating when I ordered a cocktail that I didn’t enjoy and they made me something else with no questions asked. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!
