Driving through on our way from St. Louis to Kirksville and thought The Dugout looked like a good place. Walked in and couldn't tell who worked there and who didnt. Didn't know whether to seat ourselves or not so we stood around a few minutes and then found a 2 seater table. Sat down to the smell of stale cigarettes and the table had an ashtray with a few old cigarettes in it. Sat for a good 10 to 15 minutes and nobody came over to take our order. Spent a good 15-20 minutes in there without talking to anyone so we walked out. Bummer because the place looked unique and food prices looked good. Went up the street to Casa Tequila and were greeted immediately and sat down. Had a cold beer in hand within 2 minutes of arriving.

The woman owner was in the back screaming and cussing her employees being abusive. The two meals we ordered the menu said was $10 a piece and two sodas cost is $52 I will not be going back

The burgers, pizzas, and fries I've gotten from here have been good. Lots of tables to sit at, along with a bar section. Service speed is sometimes decent, other times slow. Just recently, I had ordered a hamburger pizza from here. The first one was burnt along the edges and overdone in the center. The second one was cooked properly and tasted alright. If anything, I'd say food service could be improved.

Local bar and restaurant. Food is ok but I probably would not eat there again. If you coming to drink, perfect. It is a smoking place so some will love others not so much. Prices are good. Worth a stop to see for yourself.
Great place for lunch (though it took a little long to get our lunch sandwiches and indoors is a little smoky). Friendly service and nice outdoor seating
