This is a great little wine bar with tons of wines on tap. Plus they have beer and whiskey and the best flat bread I've ever had.
Great variety of wines from different parts of the world and delicious flatbreads!
Wine experience was fun. Once you know which wine you have a preference of, it's best to purchase the bottle instead of refilling glass, causing money to be saved. Food was not purchased.
This place is the best ever ❤️
My favorite spot 😋
This a cool spot, some snacks and wine vending machines. What more couple need on a Friday at 2 after cutting out early from work?
I had the privilege of speaking with Max, Kylie, and Leah one October night while taking my boyfriend on a last minute date to Sail Away Wine. They were friendly, welcoming and even though it was a slow night downtown they kept themselves busy. I could tell that they were hard workers, and had to give a shoutout after the awesome time they gave us.
We had gone a few times before with my mother for their Mother's Day trivia and it was a blast, I really like the concept of an all you can taste wine experience in North KC, its such a cute spot and perfect for any occasion from a romantic date night to taking your mother out for drinks! Thank you for your kindness and hospitality Leah, Max, and Kylie!! I apologize for writing this review so late.

Great way to try various wines from around the world. I'm not really a wine drinker, but I found a few that were quite tasty.
Kid-friendliness: Kids would be okay with the food, but it's definitely a place for adults. I don't think kids would enjoy sitting and watching adults get drinks. It's quiet.

My wife had been to Sail Away a while ago and liked it but sadly, I just made it there this week. Loved the concept and Skyler explained everything well but I was in the mood for a beer and she recommended an excellent local-ish(Lawrence) IPA. She knew her beer well and felt like she read my (crusty old fart) beer tastes really well. The flatbread pizzas were a tasty nibble before the Royals game and the atmosphere was really chill. Felt like a neighborhood bar with a really great singer/guitarist, Howard Mahan, playing. Can’t wait to go back and actually drink some wine

Found this little gem and loved it. Flatbreads were perfectly sized so that you could try many different flavors. Outside seating with a great view to people watch. The wine on "tap" was so cool with the ability to "sample" a light pour with more wine than you could shake a stick at. Will be returning.

Literally 10/10. All the staff was beyond nice and welcoming. Explained it very well. The concept is so cool! You can try a bunch of different wines. They also do a cut off at 15oz, which is 3 glasses of wine. I think that is very cool as well, love the drinking responsibly. The food was very good and good portion size. I will be back!

overall sail away is a wonderful establishment. however, it is hard to enjoy the wonderful selection of wine when the building is hot and sticky. would be 5 stars if they lowered the temperature.

I've been to Sail Away a couple times previously. The charcuterie boards are decent. I feel the food is a bit overpriced for what it is. Trying all the wines is fun. And thr live music is generally good.
My most recent visit wasn't great though. Service was not great. The place was not busy, but we had to repeatedly flag down staff or go to the bar to order. One bottle of wine ran out in the middle of a pour and after replacing it, the server just pressed the first button, so while my friend paid $8, they got maybe $4 worth of wine. I went to pay and was ignored for several minutes. I get that the place is part serve myself with the wine, but the folks there last night seemed uninterested in offering good customer service, preferring to brood behind the bar or look at phones. Left a bad taste in my mouth. We walked to Mitch e Amaro across the street that had about the same amount of people and 1 bartender, but offered friendlier and faster service.
