“I came across this place when looking for local places to eat in Ozark. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere! Our dog was allowed to join us on the patio - definitely a huge plus - IYKYK. The pulled pork was very good and juicy. The sides A+. I got the potato salad and broccoli salad. My husband got the cole slaw. They were made different than what we are use to but tasted great nonetheless. I am sure we will be back before we leave to go home.”

“Our absolute favorite coffee stop! The best coffee we have had in the area. The owner is so sweet and friendly. We had our grandma with us one morning and she bought us drinks and giftcards. Then every time we used those gift cards the owner remembered us coming in with grandma. It was so thoughtful!”

“We love Huey Magoos and visit the ozark location often. Having experienced the Springfield Sunshine location originally, the Ozark location doesn't deliver as well. We like the chips vs the fries, not always but frequently the chips aren't fully cooked. Theyre soft and alittle chewy. Other then that, still one of our favorite places. Also, the watermelon iced tea cannot be beat!!!”

“So, I feel compelled to review this joint bc 1) they've earned a great review, but 2) I think they have a disproportionate amount of low reviews that are not deserved, and are not helpful to would-be diners.

There are many things I love about El Charro-- great service, fast kitchen, kick butt margaritas, to name a few. But I also love the breadth of the menu. You can go here with your basic friend who wants a basic burrito and only cares that it is BIG and SMOTHERED in queso. Simultaneously, you can order yourself something more authentic and tasty.

If you order the big burrito or the beef and bean nachos at a Mexican restaurant- in OZARK, MO!!! - well, um, don't be surprised that that is what you get. But you might be surprised, if you pony up the green backs, and order one of their specialties like the Molcajete El Charro, or the whole fried fish, or the Steak Feliz, or the Pollo Especial, and that's just a few of their knock your socks off delicious plates - well, you might be surprised how flippin good this little Mexican restaurant in (again) OZARK, MO truly is. It's great, and it's affordable!

Oh, and for the salsa, yes, the one they serve is pretty run of the mill. But, if you simply ask the waiter for their spicy salsa they'll bring you some of the best, fresh, house made, rip your lips off salsa you've had in a while.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that context matters. This is a classic Mexican restaurant, surviving and thriving in OZARK, MO. They cater to a wide base, that's not easy to do. They're not claiming to be some trendy, autentico, taco truck. A lot of the food is basic, and I'm glad bc it means I can take large groups there and everyone can get what they like. And for the rest of us who want something a little different, and, well, better, order a dang special! And don't forget to ask for the spicy salsa!”
