Based on reviews, Quetzal Mexican Restaurant is a great neighborhood Mexican joint with really good and amazingly fresh food. The burritos are satisfying, and the quesadillas are a favorite, with the shrimp quesadilla being amazing. The chicken flautas and guac are also popular, and the molcajete is bomb, served on a cool lava stone dish. The barria tacos are filled nicely with roast and cheese, and the consume is great, but the refried beans have a very strong smoky taste. The chips and salsa are flavorful and make up for the margaritas, which could be better. The staff is very attentive, hard working, and friendly, with a GM who is great. The atmosphere is good with a chill vibe and a decently sized bar. The restaurant also has the best bathroom ever seen in a restaurant, with a well-thought-out baby changing station.
