“The Boathouse Restaurant has THE BEST old-style fried chicken, which is actually hard to find these days! We were excited to try this fabled fried chicken, and loved the cozy, down-home atmosphere. The waitresses and staff were all friendly … and we didn’t even feel uncomfortable; not for even a second, when we walked in where the locals may ogle you and wonder who are “they.” In fact, there were other non-native diners which we struck up a small chitchat as we waited for this wonderful fried chicken to be delivered to the table. We had our 2 year old grandbaby with us who we had brought crayons and some paper or keep her patient while waiting, and many diners smiled at her or us. Very nice clientele and the chicken was to die for! We have already gone 3 times since we discovered this happy, yummy, food and kind employees . If you miss simple, good ol’ fried chicken, this is your place to go! They have many other favorites , and specials, so there will surely be something for everyone!“
