We had lunch at The Local today. The food was delicious!! The staff was great!!! We sat outside on the patio!!!!! We work downtown and didn’t realize the specials they have. Prices were good! We will be back.

"best wings in Missouri" NOT! More bone than meat, WAY overpriced, and no celery... the flavor was decent but not good enough to overcome the other issues. And - what is the fascination with having the Closed Captions on all the TVs?!?! NOBODY goes to a bar to READ the TV... TVs you can't see while sitting at the bar BTW... Do yourself a favor - don't bother with this place...

The Local in 4th is one of the BEST places in Salem, MO for drinks and delicious food! They have the friendliest staff, Alyssa makes the BEST drinks, The Hero is my new favorite!! Jay has the most amazing staff and the atmosphere is perfect!! You should definitely stop in the next time you’re in Salem!!

This bar has amazing food! I only wish I lived closer to the town so I could visit more often! I'm already planning to make a special trip out for my birthday 🎂 🥳
The bartender was super nice and chill. He brought our table nearly 25 bucks worth of free appetizers because he felt bad that he ran out of fries for the meals we ordered. I got upset at him for under-charging us because of how a business needs to make money but he said we'd be repeat customers and he was darn right I will happily make the drive to visit whenever I can! He also got a very big tip! I only wish I thought to take pictures, and the only thing I could recommend to make the place better would be a softer, more comfortable barstool. I had a fabulous time, and you will too if you support local businesses! They also have trivia nights if you like a fun activity with your drinking! You will not regret visiting!

PNW transplant here. I’m so excited I came across this place! The food was great, and the drinks were FANTASTIC! I highly recommend the Welch which was amazing with fresh mint and house-made lavender syrup. The quality of food and drink are a rare find. To top it off, the vibe was unlike anything else in the region. Friendly service, good music, and the entire place including dining, kitchen, and restrooms were spotless! Thanks, Jay, for the awesome time! Looking forward to our next visit!

I needed to run to Salem from Steelville to pick up my mail. I noticed The Local on 4th across from the post office and decided to check it out. Very glad I did! I was surprised at the variety of bourbon and beer selections they offered. The food menu was also interesting and fair priced. The owner, Jay, hopes his pub will be an anchor in a revitalized downtown area. Go check it out! We need more food and drink options like this in our area, and they’ll need our support to remain viable. I’ll definitely go back. 
Food was great. Only giving 4 stars because they were out of some items we tried to order. Waiter/Bartender was very friendly. Service was quick.

It's was pretty good. I think the server was a little overwhelmed or having a bad day. Everyone has them. The fries were cold and tasted, some tasted a little frozen. The burger was pretty good. We will try again. That was our first time and they were busy.
