So I don't think Haruno was particularly good, in fact, it was bad. But it may have been my own fault. I took my grandson, because that's where he wanted to go (he has been a few other times and likes it a lot). But I couldn't care less about sushi, and from what I saw, it's all they do well. Both our dinners came with both soup and salad. The salad was pedestrian, basically a big big bowl of lettuce. The lentil soup was all but inedible. Even the kid thought it was subpar. Wes had a chicken teriyaki dish. He's a kid who believes in cleaning his plate. He didn't eat half (now by then he had had a sushi app that he ate by himself, so maybe that had something to do with it). When I asked him about it, he said he didn't like it very much. I had a filet so bad that I should have complained about it, but the kid was having a good time and I didn't want to throw cold water on it. The steak had been pieced together from three leftover pieces. Two of the three were nothing but gristle. Inedible. So my 8-10 ounce filet was reduced to 4 good bites. The sushi might be great. But nothing else is. Caveat emptor.

Overall a very solid choice. Even with reservation if it's a weekend you may still wait 20min. Food and staff overall great. Probably the best choice for Springfield MO.

Great dinner with a group of friends. It's always refreshing to find a restaurant open on Sunday nights.

My husband and I were out to celebrate me getting a new job. We came in and were sat right away. Our waiter came over, brought us water and we were able to order our sushi right away. Food was absolutely delicious. This is one of our favorite places to splurge a little.

We always love Haruno. Like everywhere else, Valentines day gets a little hectic. We usually eat at Haruno once or twice a month. They started getting a little petty with upcharges for substitutions on their dishes though.

Such a great place to go. We enjoy the food, staff and atmosphere. We have been going at least once a week for the past five months, and looks forward to going each week. We have never been disappointed.

Couldn't find the lobster in the lobster spring roll. Fish in fish tacos was no larger than my pinky finger, and that included the thick breading.

Haruno is a true gem! The sushi is incredibly fresh and beautifully presented, with each piece showcasing a perfect balance of flavors. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for both a casual night out or a special occasion. The staff is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall fantastic dining experience. If you're a sushi lover, Haruno is a must-visit!

I had made a reservation for 7:30pm online for my Husband's birthday dinner. It asked if this was for a special occasion. I checked it was for a birthday. It then asked for any special requests. I asked for a booth to be a bit more secluded and special.
When we arrived we had to wait for anyone to even notice us. A gentleman asked "2?" I pointed out that we had a reservation. He then glanced down for a minute, grabbed two menus and sat us at table for two next to other larger parties on the way to the bathroom. We walked right passed one of the booths that just needed cleaned off. What was the point of responding to those drop downs if they are not going to even acknowledge them.
Food was great as always, but service was, again, lacking. If it wasn't for the water we had been provided when we sat down we'd have had nothing to drink when our ordered drinks ran out.
As we were getting up to leave I saw the gentleman set a little "RESERVED" sign on the table next to us. Apparently we were not important enough to have our special requested table "RESERVED".
This isn't the first time. It seems the customer service is getting worse and worse. It doesn't feel like our special place anymore. After all the years of going to Haruno I feel it may be time to try someplace else that puts more value in their customers.

My friends and I decided to go in for lunch on our vacation from FL. We were greeted by a warm and friendly hostess immediately and were sat quickly at a clean and comfortable table. Our server Alexis introduced herself in a very friendly and welcoming manner and made great suggestions as well as helping us navigate the menu. Alexis went above and beyond by making our drinks to spec as they didn’t have a bartender available, I enjoyed one of the best artisanal old fashions I’ve had to date, made with Japanese whiskey (Alexis has a bright future behind the bar ahead of her) our food was brought out with a spectacular display and everything tasted delicious. 5/5 and I’d highly recommend any visitors or locals to dine at Alexis section.
