Absolutely phenomenal experience throughout! Danielle our waitress was phenomenal in assisting our food choice and my goodness everything was incredible! Very timely as well! Phenomenal appetizer, drinks, main course, and desert!! We HIGHLY recommend the fish and chips it’s the best fish and chips we’ve ever had!! 10/10 experience and definitely will be returning and recommending friends and family to come here!

The atmosphere is still beautiful but the food isn’t good. We went for the brunch buffet. There were very few options and the items were running out/cold. I think they should focus on having a few more options and higher quality recipes. The meats weren’t good at all, reminded me of frozen food. The salad bar while good, wasn’t what it used to be either. Used to be so good.

We took our adult children for brunch to treat them and celebrate a special occasion. We all got the brunch buffet. The food was not good. The shrimp looked like it came out of a box from Walmart. Actually worse. The catfish was so fishy we couldn’t eat it (and we’re a seafood) family. We were so disappointed bc this is usually one of our favorite restaurants to treat the kids. We love the atmosphere but the food was just awful. And expensive!!! I’m willing to pay a pretty penny for good food but this was a pretty penny for awful food 😔

The food is always, always good. The steak is surprisingly good. I’ve never had alligator before and the breading was so good! Our cookie was a little dry but that happens. I can’t remember the last time I had good service in a restaurant but Kassadi took such good care of us. Our drinks were never empty and she respected our space while still being very friendly.

Lovely experience dining here. There's a balcony that overlooks the camo area, a beautiful aquarium behind the bar, roaring warm fire with waiting area. They serve a brunch on the weekends and have a delicious IPA on tap. I love the coconut shrimp and the bison chili is yummy. Bonus: keep your eyes peeled for the elusive eel 🤗 Happy Hour is disappointing and underwhelming. Only Busch and Budlight on HH draft plus overpriced and poorly executed food options. Not even salt on the pretzel, served with neon cheese. Update: Happy Hour is gone. Michelle is the best server!

Had the brunch. It was around 11 am. Food was cold. Deserts were undercooked, the bread pudding was slimy and cold. The sauce for the bread pudding was curdled. Told the manager. They stated because we hadn't said anything they gave us 15% off. It was absolutely terrible. We are from the area and remember when this was the place to go. Not anymore. We will not be back. Bass pro is a wonderful place but the restaurant (Hemingway's) is terrible. DO NOT EAT HERE!

I love the thoughtful response I received. I changed it to 5 stars; because they have been amazing for many years, and I believe they will improve again. I deleted my prior review.

Lovely atmosphere and unique meats on the menu. Obviously not a great place for vegetarians, only option is basically a salad. Cocktails were pretty good.

The food was terrible especially for the price.

We got the meatloaf and it was burnt!

The bison burger was okay!
For 4 adults and two small children we paid 150.00.

Not impressed!!

Havent been there for awhile until today amd our experience was really terrible. We have a child that had AGS. We asked all the questions amd were assured thst they take it very seriously and thst there is no chance of criss contaminatiin

We visited Hemingway’s for brunch with our family, including our 13-year-old who has Alpha-gal syndrome, a serious allergy caused by a tick bite that can trigger delayed, unpredictable reactions to mammal-derived products. Reactions can vary day to day and, in severe cases, can include anaphylaxis.

Before ordering, we made the allergy very clear to our server and explained how serious it is. We asked detailed questions about food preparation, fryers, cross-contamination, and what items would be safe. We were explicitly told that the restaurant takes allergies very seriously, that the food would be safe, and we were given several options our child could eat — including items from the buffet.

Based on this information, our 13-year-old ate from the buffet.

Only after the meal was finished, a manager came to our table and informed us that the buffet is not Alpha-gal safe and that the information we were given by the server was incorrect. The manager then explained that none of their fryers are safe and that the food our child consumed should not have been recommended for someone with this allergy.

We were left shocked and deeply concerned. While we understand that Alpha-gal can be a complex allergy, we did everything a family reasonably can do to protect our child: we communicated clearly, asked the right questions, and relied on the information provided by the staff. The failure here was not a lack of understanding on our part, but a breakdown in communication and knowledge about the restaurant’s own kitchen practices.

If our child had experienced a severe reaction or gone into anaphylactic shock, the consequences could have been life-threatening.

I rarely leave reviews and have great respect for how hard restaurant staff work. However, this situation was extremely serious and could have ended very differently. My hope in leaving this review is not to attack, but to urge Hemingway’s to improve allergy training, internal communication, and verification between servers and the kitchen before assuring guests that food is safe.

Food allergies are not preferences — they are medical conditions. Clear, accurate communication can quite literally save lives.
