Hogy Cafe was delicious! Meat was tender and very flavorful!!! The side of potato salad was wonderful!!! Wish we had this restraint in Ohio.

We each got the burnt end plate. Approximately 1/3 of each plate was fat. Meat was very greasy. Coleslaw was flavorless with exception of a horrible aftertaste. Baked beans tasted like plain pork and beans. Potato salad and cheesy corn were good. Volcano sauce was very hot and good.
Definitely not worth $19 per plate!

Ordered in person before closing and overheard an audible, “I guess everyone decided to come in now?” or some other disgruntled remark from the counter. Hey—you’re a restaurant, you’re open for business and serving food, so keep those thoughts to yourself. The coleslaw had an odd aftertaste, almost like bad tap water.

The meat on my nachos was great. Very tender. But everything else, the chips and cheese tasted like I ordered it at a junior high football concession stand. There was no lettuce or tomatoes. Kinda disappointed being my first visit. Staff was friendly.

Menu doesn't clearly show or explain plates come with no sides. Was offered chance at 'extra side' when ordering, but I guess thats what I get for assumptions.
Pork lion sandwich was excellent, but there wasn't enough left for a 'jumbo' portion. So hits to service.
Atmosphere was what I expected, nothing special.
All in all a great experience, will definitely eat again!

Ordered to go.
Disappointing portions for price. The coleslaw tasted like pure sugar with the crunch of cabbage so I couldn’t finish the teaspoon portion they provided. Chicken was cooked well but cold and somehow the blandest thing I’ve ever eaten. Its taste nearly blended in with the cold, straight from the bag bun. :(
One of those places where you need to know someone there or catch them in a good mood to be treated well, I think.

The food is delicious, I do not like potato salad but theirs is made with sour cream and it's delicious! The burnt end cheesy corn was yummy also. The brisket was tender and delicious! I like the sweeter barbque sauce and their #5 hit the spot just perfect! If you are in the Springfield area you have to try this place!

ok for me. This is the first BBQ place I have ever been to in my life that didn't have mac and cheese, banana pudding and some sort of cobbler. The place seemed run down and the stuffing was literally coming out of the seats. Most of the tables were very dirty.

Went there for the 1st time on 8/8 25. Ordered 2 whole hog platters for $27 each. Just being honest, the ribs were semi tough and not fall off the bone. Brisket was very disappointing as it was sliced paper thin. Pulled pork was decent but dry. Green beans were not good at all. The best thing was the potato salad. All of the portions were very small considering I spent $60. Not award winning bbq in my opinion and will eat elsewhere. One and done for me.

The food was fire! My husband and I both had the half smoked chicken—meat was juicy with a great smoky flavor, though the skin didn’t do much for us. We loved trying all the different sauces. I got the burnt end cheesy corn and baked home fries (that corn was insane—my husband barely got a bite!). He had the baked beans and home fries, which were also solid.

That said, the building definitely needs some love. Booths were falling apart, and it wasn’t the cleanest. Still, if you’re in it for good BBQ and don’t mind a little wear and tear, it’s worth the stop.

Great BBQ with an amazing selection of sauces. The pulled pork is always consistent, and the burnt end cheesy corn is amazing. The building is getting a little dated, but the food makes up for it.

Don't know what the foods like, we walked out after being talked to like we were stupid because we didn't know they didn't have fryers or fried foods. If you hate your job lady then go find a new one, you suck at customer service. We found a better bbq place just right down the road

The food was mediocre. Home fries were hard like they were not fresh, the pulled pork and brisket were lukewarm if that. The brisket was extremely thin cut. The portions were small for the price. I’m not sure what the standards were for the “world champion bbq” but I question how this is the standard.
