I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to the El Maguey on South Belt/Commonwealth Court. We just moved here from Texas. My daughter and I had lunch at El Maguey on North Belt a few months back, and it was really, very good food and service. I ordered online takeout from the South Belt/Commonwealth Court by mistake, but I thought it would be pretty much the same. However, we didn't get half of what we ordered and had to call and go back to get the rest. 20 miles later and sitting down to eat, and it was so horrible that the taco salad I had, I couldn't even eat as it tasted chemically, and the meat smelled awful. All of my family were sick after about an hour after eating this food and had stomach problems throughout the night and part of the following day. Beware.

We went here around 1:30 on a weekday afternoon and were very underwhelmed. There was one other couple in the dining area. The service was fine, just exceptionally slow. It was almost 15 minutes before we even got chips and salsa. The food was just okay, my entree was over cooked with lots of overly crunchy burnt pieces of meat in it. The beans and rice were just average. My wife’s food was also just okay, nothing special just a generic lunch special taco.Luckily everything was lunch special pricing. I would’ve had a hard time paying full menu price.

out of the three locations this is hands down the best one. always clean, quick service and decently priced.Eddy is the best server you could ask for - he’s nice, attentive and makes the environment feel so welcoming and is the reason for my 5 star review! he gave me the cheese dip for free for my birthday because I don’t like the given dessert (which there’s nothing wrong with i’m just picky lol)
