OUT OF BUISNESS. Made a web reservation thru THEIR website in early July 2020 for Aug 2020. Called 2 weeks ago to confirm. Lady on phone said "call back later, the system is down I cant check". So I canceled the reservation thru THEIR website. Today I'm in St Joe and drove by just to see what it looks like. The hotel is boarded up and lot is fenced off. Out of buisness. What kinda BS place accepts reservations when the hotel is shut? This company does.
I’m not sure where all the high reviews are coming from. It was dirty and gross. I don’t think it has been vacuumed in the last 5 years. Also, after looking at other reviews there are apparent bed bugs. Hotel should probably be shut down. For some reason my other photos won’t post.
A little older and run down. I did find a couple bugs in my room. I'm not sure what kind of bugs they were but they seem to have some type of problem with that. Good place to catch some sleep for the night don't think of recommend this place for an extended stay.
This hotel was just nasty in general. The only reason why I am giving it 2 stars is because the staff were really nice and very friendly. Unfortunately, the staff are working in the wrong hotel. The whole hotel was just dirty and outdated. Everything from the stained carpets, walls, and ceiling were just off putting. In many instances, the wallpaper was coming off from the walls. The carpets needed to be cleaned. The A/C units in the rooms were old and should have been replaced. The light fixtures were old and worn while also producing little visible light. The TV was nice and worked for me, but I've heard other issues from other people within the hotel. The rear door to the back parking lot stopped working after 9pm, and the key card did not open it. The pool area was just bad. Concrete around the pool was sprawling and could cut someones foot. It was too dark and just looked dirty. My room did not have a coffee maker nor a refrigerator. I mean, a coffee maker is pretty standard for hotels. I could live without a mini fridge to be honest, but the coffee maker is a stable for every hotel room. I did not have any issues with my bathroom. It was pretty clean compared to other reviews I've read. Overall, don't stay at this hotel for any reason. If you need to be downtown, it is still worth staying at another hotel and looking for a place to park instead of staying at the Red Lion. This whole hotel needs to have a major make-over and be updated for it too survive!
Love this hotel. It's beautiful inside. Nice clean restrooms. Clean rooms with comfortable beds, bar that serves breakfast and dinner and has a pool area with a sauna..
This place is amazing. Will stay again. The people are so very nice and helpful. All smiles. This is a must for all to stay. Comfy homey. Love it. 5 bright stars.
We stayed over the weekend and everything was great!! The room was fantastic, the people were very polite and helpful! The pool was clean and the kids had a lot of fun. I'll recommend this hotel to my family and friends!
Pool was nice and relaxing. Fry's Corner restaurant inside the hotel has a great selection, friendly staff and the best food in town. I stayed four days and prefer their restaurant food over the chain places we ate at during the visit.
Very run down and dirty feeling about the place. The front desk lady was rude during our check in. The sauna is broken. There is no hot tub even though the website says there is. We asked for pool towels at the desk as the note on the door stated but there weren't enough so we were told they would bring us some, which they did not. There is a sign stating that the hotel will hold an incidental fee on debit cards used for payment. This is fine; I've had this happen before but usually it's only $25 or so. This hotel holds $75 or $80! Our door handle is half broken so it takes a certain little wiggle for it to open. The mattress was half off one of the beds when we got to the room so we fixed it and revealed a metal bar sticking out, which I busted my ankle on twice!
I had a great experience here. The room was in order and comfortable. The rest room was large and roomy. Everything was clean and orderly. The rooms were stocked nicely with everything I needed. The restaurant downstairs had good food and was decently priced. Everyone we ran across was friendly and helpful. The only thing I can say that would be negative is the drains were a little slow, nothing terrible though. The area seemed like a decent area from what I saw.
