Food used to be consistently good, especially certain entrées such as the boneless short ribs that have been a mainstay. I rotated between that and the fresh fish of the day which was also routinely good - However, the past two experiences have been disappointing in terms of both entrées being dry/overcooked (one dine in and one takeout). The normally very tender short ribs were terribly dry and tough/hard to chew, to the point that I couldn’t eat the majority. The last fish entrée that I ordered was a mahi mahi, nice preparation with shiitake mushrooms but the fish was dry. My friend ordered the duck and it was overcooked and grisly so she didn’t eat much of it. Wait staff friendly and helpful so hope that the previous quality returns.

Friendly service and delicious food.
You pleasantly surprised us when you accommodated party of 9 (with 5 kids) Saturday evening. Everyone was extremely helpful and nice. Kids had many choices from their menu. Adults had full cocktail bar and wine list.
Not often I can have roasted duck - here it was done to perfection. My wife is now big fan of Carolina Cobia - that fish was done impeccably.
And don’t forget to try dessert - from sugar cookies to chocolate cake - you will love it!

Prices too high for the taste and portions. Dessert in ramekins for $13. Server didn’t respond to complaint properly… onion soup tasteless…

I’m not a fancy person but I wouldn’t turn down a dinner here with some coworkers. Very attentive service. Excellent food! Everyone enjoyed their meals, and you can tell they prepare their food with care and attention. I ordered the schnitzel and really enjoyed it!

It's my favorite place to take myself on a selfie date night. This place speaks for itself! The staff is fabulous & always welcoming. They really make the place.
The food is delicious & consistent. I'm absolutely addicted to the green beans. The chef is engaging & professional.
The atmosphere is relaxing & inviting. It feels like home away from home. The amount of regulars that frequent Avenue is a sign of the tight knit, family vibes that you get from being there. I have never once found myself bored or without intriguing & amazing conversations.
Do yourself the favor & check it out! Doesn't matter where you sit, you're going enjoy yourselves, the food, & the drinks, & the service will not disappoint!
Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate my celiac food restrictions. Staff was very knowledgeable & understanding.

Hidden gem. Great date night. Had the trout for main dish, shrimp appetizer, oysters, and bread pudding. All outstanding.
Drinks were great and the staff especially the bar tender were fantastic. Will be back for sure.

This restaurant did not leave a lasting impression on me. Felt like the food was too overpriced for the quality. The gazpacho was just alright to me. The pasta was better, but again, not worth the price. The food also took a while to come out. However, our servers were very wonderful. They were super helpful, super attentive, and their personalities made our experience better.

Great Food and drinks. Our service was amazing.
This restaurant is the best place I’ve ever been because of the amazing steak and elite peppercorn sauce. Also the service was great, the bartender was funny and made me a special cocktail, the waiters were kind and helpful (shout out to Michael, Meredith, Makesh, Vicky and Claudia ) for making our night amazing. As well as all this the chef even came out to check that we liked it.
Kid-friendliness: Their waiters were nice to my kid

Chef Bryan is the real deal. He is deeply schooled in classical French technique and devoted to local sourcing and seasonal menus. Above all, Chef is humble and sincerely devoted to providing outstanding hospitality. Micheal behind the bar is a sort of sorcerer. His seasonal cocktails are inventive and expertly crafted.

There are a few things that are important to me at a restaurant. First, a delightful cocktail or a very nice glass of wine-Avenue does not disappoint. I love a white bordeaux or burgundy and they have it. Occasionally I will have a cocktail and Michael takes great pride in his cocktail list.Second, a consistent menu that I know that if I ordered it before and liked it, I will again. This time I had the flounder and it was delicious and the leftovers were so good!Third, great service. Their waitstaff is excellent-their people are sincerely nice and take pride in what they do. Love them! Some reviews mentioned price-all really good restaurants are not going to be cheap. In comparison to others in Clayton that are this caliber charge more than Avenue.Avenue is definitely one of our favorites!

Meredith was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious! Had the potato gnocchi and then braised brussel sprouts. You cannot go wrong with the flavor and the passion put in the food. Service is top notch! The menu is for those who have a more refined pallet for something other than a burger or

Went here for dinner, we enjoyed our experience. It was good, but not great. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was attentive and friendly, but the food was overpriced. We started with the lobster bisque which tasted like clam chowder. It wasn't very creamy and there wasn't much lobster. I got the short ribs which was the most expensive entree and I read other reviews that recommended it. The crispy potato was like a giant tatertot and the green beans had absolutely no seasoning on them. The short ribs were tender and the sauce was flavorful. It was good, it just wasn't $40 good. My fiance got the burger which was tasty and a really good portion. While we had a pleasant experience we probably will not return. For a $100 dinner I would expect more memorable food.
