Buyer beware!!!!! The rib dinner meal is listed as $22 but when we got the bill it was $44.The food was decent but they were out of half of it so ribs were one of the only options. The manager refused to correct it even after we showed her the menu with the price we ordered from. She said it just is what it is.Then she was super unprofessional talking trash with other customers because we were upset. Our server was amazing so it sucked to end our experience that way.
Kid-friendliness: No kid menus
Parking: Not many stalls
Dietary restrictions: No chicken options mostly pork and beef when they have it in.
The building itself is vast. Really open concept takes a bit to settle into the metal loft style feeling. Food is on a simple menu. Service was great. Food even better. Long wait time for food approximately 30 mins.
Hello there, I was craving some delicious BBQ, and my colleague told me about Beast BBQ, so we took their word for it and tried it out. We were so glad we did as BEAST Butcher & Block has delicious and healthy food. It was a pleasure to receive excellent service. Very pleasant and friendly and it was my first time there. There was a pleasant ambiance, which made it a comfortable place to enjoy tasty food. Yes, I would recommend it repeatedly. The food was excellent as well as the service. That's just too good to pass up -
This is a great place! We got incredible service from the young man named Elijah at the front. I mean truly personable and kind and made us feel welcome with solid suggestions. The food was perfect. I got the fatty brisket which was seasoned incredibly well, Mac and cheese which was very creamy, Brussels also made to perfection. My wife got the rib tips, fries and coleslaw, all delicious. Not a bad first St. Louis bbq experience. It’ll be hard to beat!!
I'm not sure why this is on here as Quick Bites. I wouldn't classify it as such. Visited the Manchester location on a cold night and it was cold inside. That's my only complaint. We ate with our coats on. That said: This is the best bbq I've ever had. I do not consider myself an aficionado but I know good food. I also had my son with me who does his own brisket and ribs and pork on his green egg and I value his opinion which is the same as mine. We overdid it with the intent of taking food away. Got brisket, ribs and rib tips, snoot, cauliflower and brussels sprouts (veggies were amazing!) and fries (as part of a plate). It was all fantastic. Perfect temp. Amazing flavor. They have a variety of sauces at the table but nothing needed extra flavor at all. I live in NC so we have a lot of good bbq here. I've had bbq in a lot of other places including KC and multiples places in Dallas and Austin. This is and was hands down the best for my tastes. I cannot recommend highly enough.
We got the sample plates that included chicken, brisket, kielbasa sausage, and rib tips. The meat was good. I liked the sauce the best. The baked beans were my favorite side.
One of my favorite restaurants in town and definitely my favorite BBQ restaurant. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The staff doesn't seem to turnover like at other places. It's nice to see familiar faces. The meat is a cut above and from local farms. The sides are all homemade with a lot of thought and love put into them.If you want to get a feel for everything this place offers, I highly recommend checking out the Sunday brunch.
The pork steak sandwich was highly recommended by the host. It was easily the best pork sandwich I have ever eaten. The sauce only made it better. It is hard to describe how flavorful, tender, and juicy the meat was. Sorry for the pic of the half eaten sandwich. I got pretty excited when I unwrapped it.
Believe the hype! Please try the ribs and pork steak and you’ll instantly understand why Beast is on so many “best BBQ in America” lists. Tender, fall off the bone meat. I also tried Salt+Smoke and Sugarfire (both of which were pretty good) but this is in a league of its own. I almost skipped it because it’s a little outside downtown St. Louis but it’s well worth the trip!
I visited the the Belleville location a couple of months back and just recently went on a Sunday to the manchester location because I was sure that I was wrong. I am not. This is bar none the best food I have ever eaten. I have eaten tons of BBQ and been to all of the BBQ places around the St. Louis area in my lifetime. I read, watch, and grill BBQ on a regular basis. The owner has been on a recent food network show. However, so has other St Louis restaurants and they do NOT compare. The Brisket is absolutely mind blowing. Any other conclusion is not being honest! The best I have ever had. The turkey is so underrated (you never hear them talk about it) and my new Thanksgiving turkey to take home. The Brussel Sprouts are so good that you can hate them and still love these. The pork is what they are known for and delicious. I was disappointed that it was a buffet on a Sunday till I had it (you don't have to pick it)...So Incredible. The employees went out of their way at both places to say hello. Nice touch with the different sodas. The only downside is that both places have a nice look from the inside, but just okay on the outside. both 2 for 2...on visits and food perfection.. Did I mention the Brisket yet...I am in love...LOL. BTW, I use trip advisor and I have for years. First rule of thumb to weed out ridiculous reviews. Almost always when someone has bad service, they try to trash the food. People can not write fair reviews and it has gotten worse the last two years. This is my first review and probably my last because reviewers bother me...but this place brought me in for the first time, has me hanging up my grill tongs, and will get the ultimate stamp of approval. Have a Great Day! Enjoy my favorite place ever!!!

The service is always so fast and friendly, and the food is literally amazing! We sat outside and the staff came and brought out a container of napkins and sauce for us. They offered to get us silverware as well. They checked on us (and others) outside as well, which was great!I got the dry rubbed wings (WOW, amazing flavor; crispy skin but tender and moist inside), my husband got the rib tips, and my son got the ribs (the ribs just FELL off the bone). We all loved our food! We also got a side of candied bacon and Cole slaw. The bacon was delicious and the Cole claw was not sweet, which was SO yummy. Will definitely be returning!
Ordered the half Pork Steak with a side of Smoked Cauliflower and Potato Salad. Maria got the Smokehouse Nachos. Honestly everything was super good especially the Smoked Cauliflower. The employee was really helpful as well. Overall great establishment!
Food was awesome and the staff was very polite and helpful!
Delicious!! Bottomless mimosas. The meat was excellent so much to choose from. Very relaxing atmosphere bring the kidd something for everyone!!
We just got home from brunch at BEAST and it was absolutely the BEST in town. Bought tickets in advance so getting in was a snap. The selection was incredible: breakfast staples, BBQ sides (the mac and cheese was phenomenal), carved meats (so many options), waffles, made to order omelets (get it with pimento cheese and chorizo gravy), and charcuterie. All of that before you get to the deserts! These were bakery quality treats and there were so many choices. Drinks are included with a number of choices: Excel sodas, milk, OJ, coffee, cucumber water, kool-aid. This is the best brunch in town by far and we will absolutely be back again.
