I used to love this place. Not sure what happened. I got an omelette and it was the strangest texture of an omelette I’ve ever had. I also could barely locate the cheese. My partner got the breakfast tacos and they are some strange textured-fried?? shell. He didn’t even finish them. They didn’t look appealing from jump. The breakfast potatoes used to be so good but I guess they don’t serve them anymore. I hadn’t been here in years and it appears that was a good thing. Super disappointed.

The coffee is amazing. The building is neat and clean but the “famous beer biscuits and gravy” is awful. The other food options we seen other people get looked delicious but our biscuits were crunchy as was the stale bacon my food was topped with.
The food was priced excessively. 2 people eating biscuits and gravy and two coffee was $45

The price for 2 eggs, 1 piece of toast and water was absurd.
***Clearly I struck a nerve and looking at others reviews you don't take constructive criticism very well. I originally gave you 4 stars because of the wonderful service and taste of the food but after a response like that the rating needed to be changed. Clearly I'm not the only one who feels that the prices are a little high for such little food. I'm sorry that you can't figure out a balance for your employees and prices on the menu like every other restaurant has. Maybe the cafe business isn't for you. Good luck to you though.

I am writing this review because I am highly disappointed. I work around the corner from this café and I was introducing a co-worker to it for the first time so we went on our lunch break. There was one waitress and she was so slow that we MISSED our entire lunch break and didn't get any food at all. Im still hungry. What a Disappointment!

Coffee was good, food was okay. Biscuits and gravy was very different. The service was pretty slow today and didn’t seem too busy, but our waitress was very kind. Cups and forks weren’t very clean so had to ask for new ones.

The first thing I noticed when I stepped inside was the aroma of hot coffee and delicious food!
The lady behind the bar was so friendly and the other staff were too.
I had the lunch quesidillas with chicken. Oh my gosh! It was fantastic!
The atmosphere was cozy and quaint, but chic as well.
I wish I could give this café 10 stars.

Pay attention to the receipt!
Food was good and staff was friendly. I had a veggie quesadilla which was spicy with lots of flavor. Menu price is $10 but they tried to charge me $12. Price was corrected after manager was consulted. My boyfriend had biscuits and gravy for $12 but it only comes with 1 biscuit. Event the staff agreed that it was overpriced. They don't bring you a paper receipt to look at. They come to your table with their handheld device to charge your card. Most people just trust that the prices are accurate. Loss of transparency = loss of one star. I feel this is reasonable.

Amazing queer friendly hole in the wall breakfast place in the heart of Benton park cafe! I never knew it existed but vibes were great! Lovely artwork you can purchase, friendly service, and delicious hollandaise. Plus they were incredibly accommodating to my party of 10. Thank you again for a lovely breakfast, can’t wait to support this local quirky spot again soon!! Yum!
