I was nervous coming in because as a celiac, trying new restaurants is really scary when you know you might get sick.if you ask, they're super accommodating! my waitress was super nice and super patient and happily found an old copy of an allergen menu for me. as you'd expect, there aren't a whole lot of options available when it comes to rolls; there's spicy tuna, the california roll, etc. HOWEVER, there's tons of options when it comes to sashimi and nigiri! the fish is fresh and melts in your mouth and, above all, the staff is friendly, diverse, and all have really cool tattoos lol. thanks for the good food! :)Dietary restrictions: They happily make accommodations for gluten allergies!

When we walked in we were greeted by the bartender. Someone in my party said to the bartender “two please” to which he replied “cool,” and stared at us. We thought it was okay to go sit down but when we sat down it took 15 minutes before someone saw us. A waitress finally came over and asked if we’d been seated there. We explained what the bartender said and apologized but she was still extremely snarky and rude.I ordered the curry with tofu and when it finally came after a long wait I found it was extremely soupy and the rice was mixed into it completely. it was so boiling hot that I literally could not eat it for another 20 minutes. I was in tears trying to eat it because it burnt my mouth that bad. The other person I was with was able to finish their food before I could even start to eat mine. The tofu was okay though. When i brushed my teeth the next morning my tongue literally bled from being burnt. I tried to blow on the food before I ate it, but it didn’t help.Ive been reading these reviews and am dismayed to see whoever is replying to them is extremely rude and unprofessional, and do not take accountability for the issues people mention. This restaurant and the service used to be pretty good, but seems to have drowned in the ocean.

I normally don’t leave reviews but I feel that this outing made me want to speak. A group of my friends and I came out to Blue Ocean for a nice day to hang out. For starters when Corryn walked us to the table she seemed quite annoyed. Maybe because we were a party of 6? When we sat down it took about 20 mins for them to ask if we even had any questions about the food. Then it took them ANOTHER 15/20 mins to take our order. So now we are at about 35-40 mins of just simply trying to order. Again, Corryn had a very annoyed look/attitude while taking our orders. Once ordered it took our food about ANOTHER 30-45 mins to come out. To put it in perspective we arrived at the restaurant at 2:10pm and left at 4:10pm 2 hours…. I guess good things take time? Sure but a little more welcoming environment could have made the experience better. While the service and experience we had was not great at all, the food was good.

The service was mediocre, but some of the food tasted truly awful. Our party had a variety of dishes, including soups and various sushi rolls. The sushi was alright, but the soups were awful. I eat a lot of ramen, and this tonkatsu ramen was the worst I've ever eaten. The pork belly was bland, but the broth had an almost chemical taste to it. Another member of my party ordered some udon, which tasted grossly salty. Neither of us could finish our meals.After receiving our check, we were also hit with a credit card processing fee and a mandatory 20% gratuity for our five-person group. This was ridiculous, given our service and food quality.

We have been going to this place for 5 years now. They have really gone down in quality since the pandemic, and their service continues to get worse. We went to this restaurant around 6, and the host let us know that the wait would be about 30-45 minutes. We put our name and number down. Around 30-40 minutes go by, and we don't hear from the restaurant yet. We return to the restaurant to check our status on the waitlist. They said they are not going to seat us anymore because they randomly decided to close early??? The restaurant is still full of customers!!! Why didn't you tell me when I walked into the restaurant in the first place before I waited all that time??? Go somewhere else if you actually want to get seated and get some food.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible.

Haven't been here in almost 7 years since they rebranded. The ramen and appetizers were absolutely amazing. The best ramen I've had in years. The egg addition to the ramen was incredible.
