Peruvian rotisserie chicken. This is some of the best chicken around. You gotta go.

The food was delicious. The restaurant is small so I would recommend a reservation. Will definitely go back.

I was a little worried when approaching the restersunt as my family was going to a concert across the street in an hour.
Incredibly, the food for 3 people came out in less than 20 minutes, and our server, Ben B, was very accommodating! I had never had fried plantains before but they were very good.

Everything here was simply phenomenal. Highly recommend to anybody in search of authentic Peruvian cuisine, or just a wildly flavorful meal.

Food was very good, price is little bit high according to portion, but service is slow..better at least one more person to attend the guest.

I lived in STL for 3 years and this is the best food I had while living there. I cannot stress to you enough how good the chicken is. The beans and rice were divine. The pork fried rice was insane. Whoever is in their kitchen deserves a serious look at some kind of award, hell the whole restaurant does. The space is small and intimate so try to make a reservation, unless you don’t mind sitting at the bar. Also, I have to give a special shoutout to their ice cream, it’s from a local maker and you have to try it. The only tragedy is that I discovered this restaurant the evening before I moved away. I will eat here every time I’m back in STL.
*I don’t really rate places. The fact I’m doing this should not be taken lightly.

We've eaten at this charming little spot twice and it's now one of our favorite restaurants in St. Louis. The roasted chicken is incredible, among the best we've ever had. If someone in your party doesn't like bone-in chicken (oh, what they're missing!) there's the aji amarillo chicken curry which is boneless and excellent, as is the ceviche (their sister restaurant Jalea specializes in it), the papa rellena and the sides esp potatoes.
But the house chicken is so good I'd just carve the meat off for anyone not wanting to deal with bones, and I suspect the excellent staff would be happy to do it for you, b/c cooking the bird bone-in is absolutely essential to getting so much flavor.

If I'd known this when making plans and a reservation, I'd have skipped Brasas: They're cashless AND add an unavoidable 3% surcharge. There was a sign on the door announcing the no cash, but didn't notice the part about a surcharge until after dinner. Don't impose a surcharge if there's no other option.
I'd had Brasas years ago as a popup at Nixta, and the Pollo a la Brasa was a bit dry and wanted to try it again.
The pisco sour was on point, if a bit pricey ($15) but worth the splurge. Cevichito clasico was good with a medium spice, but served in a cocktail glass that made eating difficult. Anticuchos corazón were available and were the best part of the meal.
Now for the signature dish: Pollo a la Brasa... Unfortunately, even the dark meat was a bit dry. Fries seemed to be the type from a bag. However, the sauces (crema) were solid.

Brasas is a place I didn’t know of until I was assigned to cover photos for them. I am glad I did. It’s a nice cozy place and the staff were so kind and friendly. After done with my business in Beasas, the food looked great and I had to order their main dish which was the Peruvian rotisserie chicken that came with 2 sides (garlic rice and fried plantain) were my sides and it came with three different cremas. (Mild, spicy cilantro, and spicy ). Speaking of the latter, the mild was good and it tasted close to ketchup+mayo , the spicy cilantro was really refreshing and flavorful, and the spicy one had lots of flavor packed in it as well. As good these cremas were, I didn’t use much of them with the chicken, I did with the rice and with the plantain which believe it or not, it worked “at least for me”. The garlic rice was cooked well and had a subtle garlic yet it was flavorful. The fried plantains were on point. Caramelized to perfection and they were sweet and melted in your mouth, when dipping them with the crema, the contrast creates a great harmonious flavors. Now going to the main star of the meal, the chicken. The main reason I didn’t go on with eaten kg the chicken with the cremas is that the chicken was filled with flavor, well seasoned and the cooked to perfection. I had the dark meat and it was so juicy and tender meat. The flavors were beyond the skin part unlike lots of people other places where you only find flavors on the skin and not the meat under.
Over all, a must try restaurant, I will be back and have to try other menu items and recommend chicken lovers to come here and they will be in for a treat.

Stopped by for dinner here before heading to a show at Delmar Hall. The pork belly is delicious.
