The service was amazing! Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Multiple managers also checked on us.

Perfectly cooked steak, recommend the herb butter. Would appreciate an expansion of side choices. Patio looked lovely. Employees were very friendly.

We booked a reservation for our anniversary. We were promptly seated. Our waiter was Joe. Very attentive and did a superb job. The food was great, never a disappointment there. I would have given them a 5 as I have done in the past but they now charge 3.5% if you use a credit card. The volume of this restaurant would never be charged a 3.5% credit card transaction. Not to mention the prices already account for any credit card use. Just another example of a restaurant double dipping.

We came into Charlie Gitto’s on the Hill with no reservation, to celebrate my birthday. There was a short wait for seating but we got drinks and were checked on during our wait. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable with pairing drinks with food. The lobster ravioli and manicotti were delicious!! I look forward to going back in the future.

Coming from Oklahoma, many people recommend this place to us! It was amazing true Italian food, from spaghetti to gnocchi it was ten out of ten!! Gotta have a St. Louis staple of the toasted ravioli also!

Its such a treat when you visit Charlie Gittos. You get to relax knowing you're going to love it from the moment you walk through the door to enjoying your after dessert drink. This is a must visit!

Wendy took great care of us. At the end of the evening we felt like we were leaving one of our best friends behind. The food was delicious and flavorful.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. The service is usually a 10/10. Unfortunately there is a Busser named Stephanie who was rude, unwelcoming and seemingly dislikes her job. Early on in the evening, she went to grab a dish (the dish had sauce on the side of it) her thumb touched some of the sauce and she was visibly grossed out and annoyed. Overall bad attitude. Worst of all, we thanked her many times throughout the night, the most we got was a a short insincere “mhm”. Staff members like that can really put a damper on a nice evening who want to enjoy their family and spend a good amount of money. As someone who’s worked in the industry it was VERY disappointing. Simply not pleasant to be around someone who couldn’t hide their distain for the guests they were helping….

Other than that-it was a great night.

The facility is a classic and the service is top notch. My wife and I had a veal dish and agreed it was a bit on the chewy side. I had a side of pasta which was very unimpressive. While I ca. understand its popularity, I have had much better food elsewhere.

So I found this just searching Google maps and wanted a true Italian dinner experience in St Louis. I had never been to St Louis before and I was feeling really hungry and got the suggestion to visit the hill which is the Italian neighborhood around St Louis. So I show up underdressed wearing a t-shirt and shorts and see that people there are dining in nicer clothing. I wasn't turned away I was greeted very warmly as I greeted them very kindly as well. I asked if there was seating available because I could hear from phone calls that they were taking reservations. The gentleman at the desk let me know yes I can sit at the bar or I could sit outside. I chose to sit outside because it was a beautiful evening and again I felt underdressed but I felt better outside.

The waitress greeted me right away and talked about the specials and gave me the menu and gave me her favorite on the menu. I took those words kindly and ordered a Caesar salad. She asked me if I wanted anchovies or not and I declined the anchovies. That was a nice ask.

I didn't get anything extra to drink I just got a glass of water. And then a basket of bread was brought with butter.

I ordered the cannelloni which is basically manicotti but stuffed with meat and it was to die for. They brought it out in the dish that went in the oven so the sauce and the cheese were still boiling pretty much and I couldn't even put it in my mouth for at least 10 minutes before it cooled down.

The Caesar salad was really good. The pasta dish was excellent. High regards for them making this pasta dish as I don't have any complaints. The service was superb always refilling my water and always asking me how my food is. The ambience and the courtyard was quite lovely with the flow of people in and out and the waitress being really really pleasant to interact with. I would highly recommend this restaurant in the hill area.

If you're from out of town you really need to plan a dinner at Charlie Gittos. If you're local make a reservation and go. The food, service and the professional staff made our dinner one to remember. We will be back the next time we're in St Louis

Food average or even below compared to atl area
Service was good but very rushed. Seemed like they wanted you order/eat/and leave so the table could be used again.
Even had a birthday cake packaged for take out without asking for it to go! Surprised and disappointed Service ranking would have been higher if we had no felt rushed.
