Food is amazing without a doubt. Definitely a little cramped and mid rating for service because I wish they implemented a queue system rather than have people line up outside in the cold or heat. Something like scan a QR code and hold your place in line. DMVs have it now.

Amazing ramen. Everything from the broth, to the noodles, to the pork was prepared perfectly. There was a little bit of a line when we arrived, but it moved super quickly. Very cheap for the cost, great food, and very fast service.Vegetarian options: There are no vegetarian entree options

This is genuinely the best Ramen I have ever had. I have had Ramen at many places, and those comparatively are mediocre at best. I love that you can order from your phone. The Orange soda is delicious, and the food is always fast and fresh. I've been at least half a dozen times, and I've never been disappointed.

I love this place, my favorite ramen. We come here very often. But the waiting lately is too long. It was much faster on the past. I don't know what is the reason, not here to blame anyone. It was about 30 min in the past. Now it's about an hour. Hopefully it will be better, because the food is never disappointing! ❤️

While not my favorite (flavor wise), this place serves high quality ramen and ingredients, with pretty quick service. I’ve enjoyed ramen all over the states. Many ingredients have to be added for a fee at this shop, while other shops include them in the price (an egg, veg, etc.) The flavor was very good initially, but it wasn’t layered with much depth, so I didn’t enjoy the broth as I got around the halfway point. You do order on your phone, which isn’t anything new, but the phone offerings don’t include everything on the menu. I had to ask an employee for separate ingredients, and she then brought me an iPad to place my order on. Overall, great atmosphere, quality ramen, and a decent price. I’d visit again, but there are better choices. Also, their menu states that all dishes come into contact with meat or gluten, so heads up for those with dietary restrictions.

It's amazing what Steven and his team have done to bring a piece of Japan to St. Louis. The tsukemen is my favorite of their dishs; the noodles are refreshing, the pork is tender, and the broth is flavorful. The vibe of the restaurant is exactly what I want in a ramen shop, and I instantly found myself becoming a regular. Usually, there is a line, but the wait is absolutely worth it.

SPACE: The space is extremely limited which makes it very difficult to get seated without a wait unless you arrive 15-20 minutes before they open and walk in.DISABLED ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchair accessibility definitely was not thought about at all unless the staff is willing to rearrange the whole restaurant so 1 disabled customer could get in.APPETIZERS: The appetizer I got was the Japanese fried chicken. The moisture was consistent and the pieces were well prepped. They could go for a little bit more seasoning however the mayo does a great job at adding more flavor.MAIN: Now this is where Menya Rui fully recovers from all of the negatives the ramen is very very well prepared and the broth has a flavor that you will not find anywhere else in STL. The noodles are cooked to perfection and the whole bowl is balanced perfectly.

Menya Rui has the most authentic Japanese ramen I've had anywhere, even the experience is made to feel like you're in a hole-in-the-wall ramen place in Japan. We arrived at 4:40 on Friday afternoon for dinner at 5. We parked and waited a few minutes in the car because it was cold and raining. People started lining up, so we hopped in line at 4:45 and were the third or fourth group to be seated. The restaurant is small and has very limited seating. We sat at the bar for dinner and enjoyed watching the cooks in the kitchen. Only four staff were working and chugging out the best ramen around, possibly in the country. The entire process is fast-paced- order, eat, get out and let the other dozens of people waiting get in. When we left, only 20 minutes after opening (at 5pm), the line rapped around the block- and it was raining and cold!We ordered the house cucumbers for an appetizer. I ordered tantanmen and my husband had the pork shoyu and added karage to it. We both added boiled eggs to our dishes. I highly recommend the pork shoyu. The tantanmen was a bit greasy for my liking, though I believe that's just the nature of the dish. Portions are perfectly sized. We left so satisfied and will return soon to try other items on the menu.

Worth the wait. I had the tantamen and it was delicious.I only wish that it had been served hotter than what it was, by the time I got to the bottom of my bowl everything was room temperature. The atmosphere is amazing. We are lucky to have something like this in STL and I will definitely be back again.

Waited 30 mins at 6:30 on a Sunday night - it was cold out but the ramen was worth it! It was all so efficient and easy too. Definitely add the egg to the pork shoyu if you get it - it’s so good!

If you could blindfold me and take me here, I would not be able to tell if I was eating ramen from Japan or from a restaurant in the USA. It was so tasty! I found this place on a vloggers Instagram page, and I gotta say, I'm so glad he recommended this shop. Thank you to the entire staff that keeps this place running, you guys are awesome.P.s. we got there when the line was wrapped around all the way to the back, and it took 45~ mins approximately to get in. So the wait was worth it for me.
