Found this spot by accident about two months ago and we can't stop going back. From the deviled eggs, the biscuts, the seasonal jam to the chili...EVERYTHING is good. Really cool little diner and everyone is so friendly :)

I’ve lived in Saint Louis for 1.5 years in the Soulard / Benton Park area. It’s very common for my neighbors and I to frequent the cafes, diners, and delis in our area, many of us visit religiously/daily.
& in the 1.5 I’ve been here, I’ve never received such poor treatment as I did at this place.
I’ve worked in fine dining for the last 15 years, so I’m very patient, attentive, & sensitive to the wait staff & busyness. This particularly experience was something quite different.
We came around 11am on a Saturday, which made me even more patient b/c I understand the crowd.
We walked in, 4 guys behind the counter & not 1 of them greeted or acknowledged us. We waited by the door since there weren’t 2 seats together at the counter.
After about 5 minutes, a nice couple volunteered to move down, so we could sit together at the counter. (Still no greeting or acknowledgment that anyone has even entered).
They pay out & another couple pays out (which means a server came over) & stood right in front of us.
He processed payments, removed soiled dishes, but still sternly refused to acknowledge us or even offer water or menus.
After 10 minutes of just sitting there, it was jarring & apparent we wouldn’t likely be served.
Another pair walked in & received the exact same treatment. After nearly 20 minutes & trying to be understanding of their circumstances (which most people won’t attempt to do), we decided that we didn’t want to support an establishment that operates like this.
I’m unsure if it’s because they guys who operate the grill aren’t required to greet, offer water, or assist the server… but he clearly needed it and the lack of cohesion was blatant. It was like everyone was working at a separate place and pace.
For the future, I would highly recommend more training, more staffing, and a kinder approach to patrons who just want to support your business.
I would also not recommend this place to any POC.

Small and overcrowded place. We found ourselves sitting on a bar seat that I’m more than certain in no way could be safe for anyone.
After waiting over 10-15 minutes for someone to look at me or my friend, just acklowledge our existence, we decided to leave.
Open seats inside and outside yet not a word to myself or the awaiting party. Either overworked, or understaffed, there’s zero excuse for completely ignoring guests in your establishment.
Failure. I always have to ask? Is it because we were black? Because I’m 6’4 and I have on a purple shirt. Hard to miss.
Also wish i could view your menu online while i was waiting but im guessing fixing your website isn’t in the budget.

Warm greeting was seated immediately and served beverages. Food was amazing made from scratch and didn't take long to get it served to us. Great experience overall for our first day in St Louis definitely recommend.

It’s very cozy, only about 20 seats total and a very limited menu. That said the food and cocktails were excellent. Everything was well done and the service was great. This crew is attentive and friendly. Would 100% recommend.

The food was amazing! Service was super quick despite a full house. Tried the biscuit and gravy, brussels, and benedict and all were probably the best I’ve ever had - keep up the great work!!

First in STL. First place we went to. Staff were super friendly and incredible. Food and drinks were so good. I despise eggs but my buddy ordered the deviled egg and made me try them. So good. If all deviled eggs tasted like this I’d be happy. Definitely want to come back
