My all time favorite bar in StL. I always feel at home here and I love meeting up with friends at Just John when I'm in town.
Bartenders are fabulous, extremely kind, and make a fantastic drink. The owners continuously make improvements, even though it's already a beautiful space. Here you can find the best entertainment, the loveliest patio with gorgeous plants & trees, with live music during nice weather.
The owners do so much for the LGBTQI community, and offer an inclusive, welcoming vibe. If you're visiting the area and looking for the best gay bar, or safe space to have a cocktail, Just John is a must go.

I got into a verbal altercation with a very rude woman here who couldn’t seem to mind her business while I was purchasing merchandise at the main bar; the bartenders kept it very professional and were calm throughout our quarrel and stayed positive. Other than that stupidity, the place is HUGE and so much fun. Many places to hang out, on the patio, inside. Pauly is also an angel… will be coming back to see him as long as someone doesn’t stick there nose in my business <3

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE! I went to Just John’s because my gay friend wanted to go! I went to the bar and ordered 2 drinks and the server was extremely rude! HE POURED OUT ONE OF MY DRINKS THAT I ORDERED BECAUSE HE DIDNT HEAR ME CORRECTLY. I then proceeded to ask for a full refund because he poured out of my drinks and I hadn’t touch the second drink yet, the manager then proceeds to get involved and tell me that I can only get half of a refund back which was ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS considering I just ordered 2 drinks and the bartender was under some type of drug he didn’t hear me correctly something in his mind made him pour out my drink after I said I was going to pay for 2 drinks! He seemed very depressed deemed and unfit to be in society.THE MANGER THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME I NEED TO SHUT MY MOUTH AFTER I EXPRESSED EXTREME ANGER OF ONLY RECEIVING HALF OF A REFUND BACK WHEN I HADNT TOUCHED ANYTHING! The manger then proceeded to give me half a refund and told me to move from the bar! When I then proceeded to throw my drink that couldn’t get refunded in the mangers face! How dare you take someone money be so rude and mean and to only give half a refund on 2 drinks which one was poured out by your bartender and the other I didn’t touched and I wanted a refund! But noooo you all kept antagonizing me as a black straight woman of color you all did not make me feel welcome and I WILL NOT BE BACK!

John is the nicest owner to exist. I am new to St. Louis and my girlfriend and I found this bar and have made it our only hangout.
The server Pauley / Pauly is sweet and plays music for us on request. While it is a more male driven bar I never feel out of place. It’s the place I go when I want to feel safe.

No complaints about service, decor, or cleanliness. Had a great time at the Blue Max kink demo night. That is, up until about thirty minutes in when they turned up the music so loud my boy and I had to leave almost immediately. Some of the Blue Max people seemed prepared and had earplugs, which means that's probably a regular thing? Ruined the night for us. We both felt terrible the next day from the sensory overload.
