This is place is closer to traditional Cantonese cuisine but it’s not Chao Zhou (another ethnic group in East Canton) as advertised. The waitress (and owner) lady was nice to me because I also speak Cantonese, but otherwise I could see how she might be seen as rude to others. You would need to understand that this is a family-run business and things are pretty laid back. That means the waitress won’t be super enthusiastic and check in on you frequently. Quite authentic Teochew cuisine. The owner is from Macao, so his dishes are quite similar with the oversea Teochew I knew (traditional Teochew). Nowadays Teochew food in Shan Tou is a bit too greasy and salty for me. However, probably located in the Midwest, doesn't has much seafood selection which is what Teochew cuisine famous for.
