Visited yesterday for the first time. My wife (who must eat gluten free) had a half order of chicken and waffles, I had a half order of biscuits and gravy. Neither of us were disappointed, the food was quite good. We very much appreciated having the half-order option available, as it was just the right amount and made the pricing fair. The other menu options (including the full orders of the mentioned) were definitely on the expensive side, we would not eat there if not for the half order availability. My wife said her regular black coffee was good enough, but not great. I wanted water, which means using a self-service spigot and a tiny water glass for warm water which was meh. Also, you are expected to bus your own table which was a little surprising considering the prices. There is a corner which looked cozy, complete with a bookshelf and a guitar, not sure if they have live music sometimes or if you are free to use the guitar. The bar stools each have their own purse hook and power outlet which is a thoughtful touch, but at 8 dollars per drink this is certain not to become known as a bar. When we were there no one came in for coffee, but there were others eating. Not sure if you would consider this more of a restaurant or coffee shop (def not a bar), and the confusing name of the place doesn't help clarify that. Overall a solid experience, we will absolutely be back for more gluten free meals - so long as the half order of GF chicken waffles remains on the menu, probably every weekend.

What a great place! As expected, their coffee and coffee options are top notch. What really sets this place apart though is the brunch. The food is affordable, delicious and well presented. It's also incredibly accommodating to those with food allergies like gluten, or specific dietary needs. GF grits pictured.

The eggs were runny, the bacon was good, staff was condescending. Prices were high, but the straw that broke the camel's back was when they charged $4 for a 16-ounce glass of iced tea (of which 10 ounces were ice) and would not allow any refills! The owner then had the audacity to tell me that the reason they charged $4 for a glass of tea, with no refills, was because the tea was locally sourced - what a bunch of bull! I'll never go back. Their coffee is less expensive than their iced tea, and you can get a coffee refill... Go figure!

This location has been home to several restaurants, but I believe this one is my favorite! We've had breakfast here several times, and every meal has been wonderful! Their coffee is very good, and there are lots of choices-both decaf and regular, fancy or plain. The restaurant itself is very clean and well-maintained, and being on the corner allows a great opportunity to watch the world go by.

Food & americano was good. Lots of staff asked if we needed anything. Seems like a hidden gem since it wasn't crowded

On a girls trip one needs a latte STAT and humus toast?!? Don't mind if I do! Delicious eats, chill atmosphere, and most importantly the people here are the best! Great service, great recommendations, and now thinking about goin back for that cheddar roll... if you're a foodie like me you're always on the prowl for unique places!!

Very impressed with Kitchen House Coffee. I live maybe two blocks from the Carondelet location. After two years living in this neighborhood, I am surprised that I didn't stumble upon this hidden gem earlier. I came in this afternoon with a big appetite, and the intention of knocking out a couple ours of study time. I was immediately swept by the soft, yet charming decor and ambience. I had done a little research on this spot prior to my first visit today, and I gathered that they have a seasonal/rotating menu. So, I had no expectations to what was in store for options on food and beverage items. The girl at the counter was warm in her greeting, and she casually lead me through the menu. I was stuck between the breakfast nachos that was on the November brunch menu (as she had expressed were really delicious) or the sandwiches on the regular menu on the board. I opted for the meatloaf sandwich (the name is not on the online menu, and I did not note the actual name of it). I also ordered the sausage and potato soup, and a honey harvest latte--from the honey made by their local be hive (which as a previous yelper stated is apparently in the back)! At the time I came in, it was relatively empty, so I had plenty of options as to scope out the perfect spot to eat and do some laptop work (Free Wifi, by the way). I settled in the perfect window seat (as pictured), and got a good deal of work done. The food was delicious, to say the least. The highlight was definitely the soup. The sour cream and crunchy bacon on top was a pleasant surprise, and a nice touch. I cannot wait to show off this local spot to friends in the future. I also can not wait to try the listed brunch cocktails (as pictured)! Thanks for the great service, thoughtful ambiance, and delicious food Kitchen House Coffee!

Got to experience this nice little gem. Never knew they were there until I had a meeting at the Carondolet location. I am not a coffee drinker but I started with hot water, lemon and honey!! I then had the chance to sample varies bagels, hummus, tuna and even a cookie. I was impressed with every item that was prepare for our meeting although the cookie was an extra that I ordered. The server was nice and we even got to meet Paul(owner) he explained how the business started and even told us about a second location in the Tower Grove area. This place even has a beehive in the back of the dining area too so it's fun to see
