Gourmet Soul Restaurant and Catering

Omg the aesthetics of the restaurant is giving. Absolutely love the decor. Visited the restaurant on Wednesday very low attendance in the restaurant never greeted by a host or server. So I decided to walk to the bar only person at the bar who was done dining and cashing out. Waited 7 minutes to be acknowledged. Food came out promptly with my drink. The drink was delicious the food had no flavor. I order their fish wing and fries plate. The sweet and hot sauce for the wings was horrible.

Excellent service and Fantastic Soul Food

I walked in i will say they were busy however when I asked how I get on the list for a seat she said tell someone and they'll get u when we have time I had no idea who she was talking about so my party of 3 just left there was no one available to guide u on what to do. Atmosphere i loved it wish I could of figured it out people's food did look good.

I really enjoyed myself here. I have been looking for the best soul food spot because sometimes I miss my step-dad and he really introduced me to the culture.. RIP♡ I loved their greens BUT they didn't have vinegar 😔 I need my vinegar & hot sauce but their pork chop was so buttery good omg I want some more thinking about rn. Their wings was little salty but their sauces made it less salty I favorite hot & spicy sauce but their other sauce was good too. We came during the slower time so it was really nice to enjoy the place alone. It was such a good time.

I had the rosemary garlic lambchops, collard greens w/turkey and mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely delicious. There isn't anything negative to say. The meal was so flavorful. I recommend everyone to give them a try. You will be hooked!

First time there. Waitress was awesome hadca great attitude and big smile. We enjoyed smothered pork chops, greens, sweet potatoes. We definitely will be back. Liked lounge booths like a old time club

The staff at Gourmet Soul are sooo nice, and the food is absolutely delicious, the kind of delicious that allows you to taste the love in each dish. Those sweet potatoes have saved my life. The bourbon sauce is savory and sweet with a tiny kick. Their chicken and fish are quality meats with perfectly even crispy breading. It can be difficult to get reliable and affordable food here in midtown, but I know I can always count on Gourmet Soul. Give them a try if you like incredible food that makes you feel like your getting a hug. Don't skip dessert either!

Incredible experience. Staff was super friendly. Very affordable. Food came out quickly. The Lamb chops were amazing. Probably the best collard greens and candied sweet potatoes I've ever had. My girlfriend got the smothered pork chops and gave me a bite- awesome the gravy is to die for. I will 1000% be back as soon as I am able.

We to Gourmet Soul today after seeing Lavinia McCoy on GMA last year. She did not disappoint! The baked chicken was tender and juicy, the collard greens were perfect and the Mac and cheese was gooey goodness! So glad I made the trip. Wish she could come to NC and open a restaurant in my home town. I would highly recommend a visit !!!! Thank you Lavinia ! Keep up the good tasting food! Yum!!!!?

I’ve been going to gourmet soul for a while now, their food was always good up until their grand re-opening. It was very disappointing to say the least , the food isn’t as good anymore and they are ALWAYS out of something. I paid for lamb chops , and they waited to tell me after the fact that they were out. Didn’t even bother to check if they still had them before I paid.
Their hours are not accurate , and they don’t take phone calls. It’s been a couple of times when I drove there because it said they were open and they weren’t. Last time I had the food , the collard greens weren’t even cut up and they were very bland. The mac n cheese used to be my favorite thing here but now it’s not the same at all, it’s got a weird flavor and the noodles aren’t the regular elbow noodles they used to have. I got the bay bowl with salmon and the salmon filet had all bones in it.
I don’t think I’ll be coming back again, seems like they lost a lot of business.
