Be careful if you have food allergies. Some food is mislabeled and I almost got caught in a bad situation. The food is wonderful though. I couldn't even finish my food.

1lb minimum pot, 16$ per pound. Smaller food selection, especially for meat. Rice free if you eat in, other 2$.

Movoc Hot Pot is a really solid option for malatang, especially in the St. Louis area. I was impressed by the selection of seafood (scallops, abalone, mussels) and meats. The pricing felt a bit high at $15.99/lb, but the variety of food options justifies it. The sauce bar was lacking compared to other malatang places. Free rice is available for dine-in and $2 for take-out. There were labels for the ingredients, and ingredients were constantly being stocked. Overall, it's a really solid food spot, and I will definitely be coming back when I'm craving malatang.

Update on 8/2/2025:
They’ve definitely made improvements! The variety and quality of both the meats and vegetables have gotten much better. I’m updating my rating from 4 stars to 5—love it!
Original post:
Second day of grand opening, the flavor is pretty good tho, ingredients are fresh, and the price is reasonable. It is worth to try.
However, saw fried tofu on social media post but they don’t have it when I came. Food ingredient options are fewer than expected. They have duplicate ingredients on the shelf. There is no label in front of ingredients, especially for marinated meat. And the cashier takes really long time to process the weighting and checking out. Paid parking is close, free parking is kinda far.

The owner made it a great first time Chinese hot pot experience. The restaurant offers a wide range of vegetables, meat, seafood, noodles, and ingredients to add to the hot pot. The mushroom broth and spicy broth were exceptional. Bring your appetite.

If you’re looking for a meal that WON’T sit well with you, this is the place. I had their spicy stir fry the other night and my digestive system was hosting its own protest! The food was truly unforgettable, in the same way DIARRHEA is unforgettable!! On the bright side, I’ve never felt lighter, possibly because of all the fluid I have lost!!

A new experience in the area that can't be missed. Fantastic choices of proteins and veggies as well as a variety of broths or dry finishes. Excellent!

I've never seen a set up like this one before the food was fresh and served quick, loved every aspect of the food the menu was great and the optics were amazing with good and bright lights to see everything

Worse than before.
I used to love the previous packaging (P1)—it was excellent. But I was disappointed with today’s takeout experience (P2).
I don’t understand why there’s a $2 charge for each bowl of rice. For takeout orders, at least one bowl of rice should be included. The price for the small hotpot is already quite high, so charging extra for rice feels unreasonable.
Lastly, I felt uncomfortable with how the server seemed to monitor the tipping process. Even though I still left a decent tip, that kind of pressure made the experience less pleasant.

Really great food and experience. The selection of ingredients is excellent and very generous for the price. I went for lunch on a Saturday, and there was a really good cut of beef and lots of sea food options. There's 8 or so flavor bases to choose from as well, and options for both kids and those who really, really like spicy.
Staff was very friendly and patient in helping me out. Service was impressively fast, I think only 5-10 minutes for the food to be brought out.
I definitely recommend a try.

Was in town for work and stopped in as I was craving Chinese food & hotpot soup. It hit the spot! I was so pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor & the meat was so tender. It made me think of eating back in Asia & the authentic flavors. I will definitely be back next time i visit! Thank you for the warm hospitality !
