Great food! Limited menu when I went as it was going to close and reopen somewhere next year, but the street corn, salsa, fish tacos and chicken mole were all wonderful! Can't wait to see this reopen!!!

Very good food, good service for the most part, the vibe is also quite cool. Only downside is the food feels a bit overpriced given that the ingredients are very cheap (little meat or diary used)

The atmosphere is nice. It's a cute small spot in the tower grove area. Cute for drinks. The chips and salsa was good. The black bean hummus was just black beans. The sweet potato tacos were ok. The chicken mole was underwhelming. It had a lot of sauce but no spice or seasoning really. It was pretty basic. I was not impressed with this place as far as cuisine. Nice cute place tho.

Very overpriced for the quality of food. Too much acid used in the dishes, needs more balance. The vibes of the room were off even with tequila shots. Margs had a strange aftertaste, no question we wouldn't order more especially for price. I do love what Ben (the owner) has done for botanical heights and with his restaurants, but struggled to enjoy Nixta.

The dips at Nixta were the best part of the meal! They guac, queso, etc. were delicious and I'd come back for the dips and drinks. I was unimpressed by the small and large plates especially for the price point. The service was great!

Nixta offered excellent, attentive service and some delectable dishes you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. We tried two ceviches, both tacos, chips and queso, guacamole, crab empanada, and chicken mole tamale. Everything was good although I really liked the ceviche and the tamale and could've left the other items. The drinks were tasty, also. Street parking (Can be difficult to find so plan time to park) Casual dress Tapas style / sharing encouraged

This is considered an upscale Mexican restaurant which isn't worth the price and food. The corn was way too watery. Guacamole could've had more than just cilantro and jalapeño. The tacos were the best. Food is over priced with small portions. I don't think we'll be returning to Nixta.

We ate here to commemorate my dads life on his birthday with my sister, brother in law and nephew! We tried all the dips, which we thought were all very good, but a little over priced for these items.. loved the ambiance, our table and layout of the building, great for groups, but definitely make a reservation! Parking was a challenge so I'd be sure to be on time for your reservation. However, our service was poor, the food was great but took a long time to arrive, and we had to ask for water, drinks, re-fills- our server disappeared and seemed rushed, he had to come back and re ask what was ordered several times.

We came here for dinner on a Friday night with a reservation so we were immediately seated although from the looks of things, I might not have even had to make reservations as it was fairly empty. At first glance, the place is decorated well and has a casual feel. We ordered margaritas. On the smaller side for the price ($12), but they were good. Then we decided to order several small plates to share as we both wanted to try a few things. 1. Sikil pak according to mister Google, is made of ground pepitas and further described as a smoky-spicy dip. The dip we received had that smoky-spicy thing to it but the flavor was slightly bland. 2. Fish tacos - they were alright. Smaller portions but had some flavors. 3. Crab empanadas - they were decent, probably my favorite of the items we ordered. 4. Tacos al pastor - they were good, nothing too exciting though. 5. Flan de queso - this was actually good, good. I would come back for more of this! Service was okay. Our waiter eventually made it back to check on us and took our second drink order. We did wait for quite some time with our empty glasses, especially on a not so busy evening. The overall experience, combined with the food and the service, I would say merits a 3 star.

We had an absolutely delightful experience dining at Nixta. It was quiet, cozy and very welcoming. The appetizers were delicious. The tacos were also very tasty so don’t fill up on chips. Staff was friendly and attentive. We will be back!!

Shout out to nixta and their Mole Chicken. Very flavorful and satisfying. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their menu, so don't be afraid to ask questions!

We had an amazing experience at Nixta. Our waitress (Molly) was outstanding and everything she recommended was delicious. Unique and tasty choices (and for those staying otherwise, we had plenty of chips for our appetizers and were offered refills) We loved everything we ordered from drinks to desserts. We highly recommend it!

The ceviche was basically pico de gallo without the cilantro. The fish was barely there, less than an ounce. The mole was the worst I've ever tired. Basically spicy bbq sauce, mostly lack of flavor, bone in chicken legs WITH the skin on. The street corn was a can of corn in a water broth, with cheese sprinkled ontop. We picked at the food. I would never come back here. EXTREMELY overpriced, especially for not drinking our bill was over $100. Do better Nixta.

I don’t even know where to start with this review…. The restaurant is very hot, humid, and muggy. Not sure what the vibe and atmosphere was supposed to be? Mexican restaurant with beach decor? And good luck if you’re ordering salsa AND guacamole, you only get one basket of chips (not even filled up all the way) for $4 and $8 for guacamole. Couldn’t even finish them because we ran out of chips. The ceviche comes with ONE singular chip for the whole bowl. Just not a good experience at all. Especially at the price, I would skip this one.
