The pizza and wing were wonderful, and the cocktails were delicious as well. Super friendly staff, and I loved the Metal decor! I'll definitely be back!

The pizza isn't my *favorite* style, but that's all personal preference. It's very good, the ingredients are fresh, and my partner and our friends all loved it! I'm partial to a more new york-style pizza so it's never going to be a 10/10 for me, but I think it's my partners new fave! I love the atmosphere and the mixed drinks were divine. Especially their seasonal one with the long name that escapes me (pictured). It has ube in it and it's SO GOOD. I wish it was served all year round because I'm sure I'll be back. Sorry I didn't take any food pics... Next time! The atmosphere is very metalhead/goth-y in the best way. So if you don't like that aesthetic, you've been warned. However I love it! Even the bathroom was cute! Our server was also very nice. I can't remember if there were vegan options, but definitely there were plenty of vegetarian options.

As others have said, this is a bar that serves pizza, not a pizza restaurant with a bar, so I went in with average expectations. To get quick to the point, the pizza is carried by it's ingredients, which are..not bad. The crust is bland, and in the case of my group, it was undercooked, zero char obviously. I understand this place is new, and we need to give them time to adapt.. but there's no need to rush a pizza out of the oven for people that are sitting in your restaurant. We'd much rather prefer a fully-cooked pizza, and we shouldn't have to remember to ask for it 'well-done' if we ever end up coming back.I think the main problem might be that they are cooking the pizza at too low a temperature, because it was more-or-less a soggy crust on both pizzas. Again, the toppings CARRIED the pizza, because if it weren't for them, it'd be 1 Star. They seem to pride themselves on using '00 flour' for their pizza. 00 Flour is sold on Amazon and most grocery stores. Most homemade pizza crust recipes recommend 00 flour. I would hope that a place specializing in pizza is using 00 flour. I would worry more about cooking the crust more, rather than trying to make the ingredients for said crust sound more special than they really are.

Heavy metal, great pizza, wonderful service… what more could you possibly ask for? Band-themed pinball machines? Got those, too. The Headless Bat is a great addition to St. Louis’s food scene. I’ve been several times, and I’ve always had impeccable service and awesome pizza. There are plenty options for vegetarians (speaking as one myself). While metal can often be a cradle of filth, The Headless Bat certainly isn’t. It’s very clean, intentionally decorated, and a joy to dine in. The music is loud. It’s supposed to be. Embrace it, and enjoy!

We've been here a couple times , most recently for the 4/20 special. This review will specifically be about the special, because that was the busiest I've ever seen it here. There was a wait for food, as expected, but servers were on top of it and kept all the tables informed of their status. They have nice cocktails and an extensive beer list that kept us busy while we waited. The decor and general vibe is unique and worth a look by itself.Check the pizza specials, cuz they change! (They've had jalapeno popper, pizza roll on 4/20, etc)Definitely recommend!

I'm going to wait to form an opinion, but my first time was not stellar.Went with a group of friends. We weren't sure how many folks would show up, but wound up with six. The server immediately let us know we wouldn't be able to do separate tickets--they could split it evenly or we could all pay on one check. We wound up sending Venmo payments to a friend who tabulated what each of us owed and paid. There was also a 20% gratuity added to the check, which is weird since we were the ones doing more work.I was excited to try the Jalapeño Popper pizza, but apparently that was last month's special, so I got a slice each of the Creeping Breath and the Meatless Bat. They arrived first, before others' meals, but weren't warmed through. The cheese had barely melted. And if you call it Creeping Breath, I want to know you measured that garlic with your *heart.* I asked for a salt shaker and they only had little packets of salt, which is odd. My friend had the wings, which had a lot of meat on them, and he was pleased. One member of our party chose not to eat--not sure if that was due to the small menu or if they just weren't hungry. With the gratuity, I spent $22 for two lukewarm slices and a Coke. Guess I should have sprung for the 18", $26 pizza after all.I do have good things to say! I saw the sign about bad "Yelp" reviews, but you're getting my honest opinion. I appreciated the unisex bathrooms, pinball machines, and wheelchair ramp in the backroom. I was happy to see they have gluten-free crust and vegan cheese for my friends with dietary restrictions. I loved the decor. The music was fun, though it was hard to hear conversations. The whimsical names and unusual flavors were cool. And the juxtaposition of being in the old London Tea Room eating pizza and listening to metal was pretty awesome. Our server checked on us regularly. And I love the neighborhood, so I'll likely go back and give them another shot.Vegetarian options: There's a cheese, Meatless Bat, or build-your-own.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free cauliflower crust, vegan cheeseKid-friendliness: 21 and up after 5 pmWheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp in the back room, so there may be an accessible entrance I missed.

We knew what we were getting into but the music was so loud it was hard to order and almost impossible to have a conversation. Pizza was good, but 2 inches of edge crust was too much. If we go back it will only be for carryout.

Horrible! The pizza was undercooked and a waste of money, the toppings looked wilted and tasted like they were thrown on top -- and completely flavorless. The one speaker playing somewhere in a corner didn't give me metal vibes at all, crank it up! The doughy slices were stuck together, and after spending this money for a meal I then took home to cook it to try to avoid wasting food made me feel sort of sad really. I would enjoy eating a raw bat head much better than anything here. The staff I encountered couldn't care less about customers being there at all like they were an annoyance to their day, even the metal celebrities. This is likely due to being a poser's palace of pretentious pizza. Reminded me a bit of a bad LSD trip, but could've been the raw dough. Cheers!

Great beer selection. The pizza though, it’s freaking delicious. There are few pizza places that are worth a 35 minute drive, but this is one of them.
