DISGUSTING! especially those little tiny portions? No wonder the restaurant AND truck are failing. Tell cody to stop day drinki g, tell Mika to stop doing coke, and tera couldn't even boil water if her life depended on it. The art on the truck is atrocious as well, super tacky. Don't waste your money here
6 pieces of fried chicken nuggets with a splash of sauce for $18. You can’t be serious…

Spent 18 dollars on a sesame bowl and the rice was super mushy and over sauced. I did like the chopped onions in it but the brocolli could have been cut up a bit more. The chicken was good but for the amount you get it was WAAAY over priced. 8 dollars would be more like it. Never again.

So I just got a $18 drunken chicken bowl at tower grove and it smelled like dog food. I had a few bites and my fiancé only had one. There were two huge pieces of broccoli that needed to be cut up which is hard to do with a plastic fork. I fed the rest to our dog who puked it up a minute later. Someone needs to up their game over there. ???

Unclean food, terrible service. Long wait. Out of ingredients. Over the course of 4 years when driving through Volcano, I've eaten at Tuk Tuk Thai Food Truck three different times. Each time I regretted this decision. The first time we ordered two different dishes and my girlfriend ate a small portion of my food. WE both felt poorly afterward, but I was sick with intestinal pain for 3 days, directly after eating the meal. After 2 years I took a chance again with slightly better results, but the food wasn't very tasty and the kids running the place were full of attitude. The third time, the food tasted acceptable, but I was quite ill with diarrhea whereas I was feeling very well before eating their food. Green curry with shrimp. For over a week my intestines were in a knot, dizzyness and my stomach pain and cramping continued to hurt. Again the hot shot kids had a big attitude. They were out of most everything on their menu. Now you might think I have a weak stomach and I'll admit that I'm not one of those that can eat rotten food and be perfectly fine. I eat other Thai, Mexican or Indian food in Hilo or Kona at least once a week and never have I felt like this. I had to rebuild with weeks of probiotics. Reminds me of when in lived in Mexico and Central America and the food preparation was very unhealthy. The only reason I gave it a try after the first time is I thought that maybe it was a fluke or they had improved. GO somewhere else!
Fresh, flavorful Thai food, absolutely delicious, great after hiking in Volcanoes National Park! Highly recommend!
Tuktuk Thai food truck is a hidden culinary treasure in the small village of Volcano, the Big Island. The food is authentic and exquisite, yet reasonably priced. For starters we had spring rolls dipped in either sweet sour sauce and peanut sauce .- simply refreshing! The serving portions are huge ; for example, we ordered shrimp pad ke mao which was sufficient for two people. The shrimp fried rice was sumptuous and delicious! The amount of shrimp in both dishes are unbelievably numerous! For the grand finale, we had fried bananas (wrapped in egg roll wrapper) and Bobba in Thai green tea .The staff who took our order was very cordial , respectful and honest. Tuktuk Thai cuisine definitely met ( and in most cases went beyond ) our expectations!

Great food lived up to the hype of previous reviews. Some of the best Chicken Pad Thai I have ever had. Spring and Summer Rolls were on point. Guy working the register was super helpful customizing any order we wanted. Overall would go back again in a heartbeat.
There aren't many appetizing dining options in and outside the park. Glad we stopped here for an early dinner after a long day of hiking. We had the Thai iced teas, summer and spring rolls, pad thai, and cashew nut stir fry. Fried rice was sold out already. Took about 15 minutes to prepare. All excellent, large portions, and reasonably priced. There's also a taco stand just up the street if thai food is not for you!
Word of advice order early they will sale out fast when the volcano is active. The food is delicious and easy on the pockets. It’s better than any other Thai food in the village 100%!
After our “go to” Thai restaurant was closed for maintenance or something (web-sight indicated they were open) we found Tuk Tuk Food Truck. The lady that took our order was polite and cheerful. We had Massaman Curry and Pad Thai. Both were excellent! Tuk Tuk Thai Food Truck makes the best Thai food in Volcano.
Food is excellent. Be sure to go early or pre-order as noodle dishes are sold out very quickly. We pre ordered dinner by Noon.
