Charming and a blast to the past! The ice cream is made there and packed into the old 1/ 2 gal style paper cartons. For her BD, I bought a 1/2 gal. of banana ice cream for my wife who grew up in the area and loved it as a kid. She was thrilled and said it tasted every bit as good as it did back when she was a child. Nice people, but bring cash as they don't accept debit cards or CCs.

We we came in they was working on a freezer, we waited 10 minutes even before the owner acknowledged us, we got ready to walk out then she came to us after all of that shesaid they only take food stamps and cash no debit or credit cards. WHAT !!!, absolutely awful customer service and people

THEY SELLING OLD ICE CREAM. I ONLY GAVE THEM 1 STAR BECAUSE OF THE MEMORY I HAD OF THE BEST EGG NOG ICE CREAM. BUT NOT ANYMORE TRIFFLING!!!! WHEN/ IF YOU GO PLEASE DO A FULL INSPECTION OF THE CONDITION OF THE ICE CREAM SO YOU DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID.

Great atmosphere and great hospitality! I would literally come here everyday for an ice cream cone! Plenty of options to choose from… They do not accept credit card so you will have to bring cash.

My wife grew up in STL and raved about the Velvet Freeze Gold Coast Chocolate. She thought Velvet Freeze was gone forever. I found that there was one store still open and surprised her and her family by sneaking out and picking up a bunch and brought it home. All agreed it was exactly as good as they remembered. They had not had velvet freeze in close to 40 years. Truly a rare gem in St. Louis, and a must go for anyone.

I can't believe the way I was treated by the white elderly lady that sits behind the counter I'm not sure if she is the owner or not but the service was horrible, I decided to come there to treat my nieces and nephew to ice cream they arrived later than I but once they did she locked the door on them and I asked why she said to many ppl inside which it was way more ppl in there that left out before my nieces and nephews arrived then she told me if I unlock the door to let a customer out they can come in and she was sitting right by the door I told her I don't work there so she let the customer out and locked the door back so I try to unlock it to let me family in she said u leave out I'm not letting you back in I'm not sure because I'm black that she treated my like that or what but it was so bad that the white couple behind me left out and apologized to me for how she treated me. I would never go there again. Very POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE .
