This place rocks! The food is phenomenal, and you get a lot of it for the price. This is for sure a hidden gem on S. Grand. Check it out!

This restaurant is a hidden gem! If you drive too fast while on your way here, you might miss this place, just like I did. The place is homely, casual-to-eat, delicious Somali food(I'm not sure!) I ordered the goat meat with rice and had tea. It was so delicious!!! The rice portions are for two! The owner gave me so much rice that I could not finish in one sitting. The service was fast even though the guy was by himself. If you are looking for a place to enjoy authentic Somali/African food, check out this place, and you will enjoy their food just like I did.

What a hidden gem! We were hungry and stumbled on this place. The curry and samosas are unbelievable! You get enough rice for at least two meals and they serve it with a banana!

A luncheonette-style start-up on the tail end of the South Grand strip, Waaberi has a short menu of curries and appetizers. The owner-chef-waitstaff is very friendly and eager to please. We had a curried chicken dish with potatoes and a goat entree. Both were very good. The goat was a bit gristly, but then again, that's goat for you. We had appetizers that I think were called "somposas" -- triangles of meat-filled crust. They were killer, as was the hot sauce that came with them. Highly recommend them. Waaberi is a work in progress, but a great addition to our community and well worth a visit. Or two. Or more.

Three visits and each time the owner is so friendly and willing to explain Somali food. Really looking forward to them expanding their menu. My favorite so far has been the goat curry with chai.
