This is the quintessential asian supermarket, arguably one of the best in St. Louis! They have mostly everything you need. Groceries, including asian produce, a variety of snacks, some ready to eat appetizers, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, pastries, and even beauty products like face masks and shampoo. However like most asian markets, it is quite dingy with crowded aisles and poor lighting. Price is fair and they provide an itemized receipt which you don't always see. I like to come once every few weeks to stock up on things. Grab a boba from Cube Tea next door and shop away!

Good stuff, boba tea ice cream bars, juicy up hichew, boba tea next door so convenient, good selection of snacks and drinks, and most importantly good ramen selection:)

Fantastic Asian market. So much to see, you can just about everything here. Give yourself at least a half hour just to look around. Fresh and frozen meats, exotic spices, liquor, various Asian products.

If I had written this review when I first moved to St. Louis, I might have given Olive Supermarket a 2 or a 3. It used to be much more cramped and didn't have adequate lighting, which made it seem dark and dingy. Now, however, since their renovation, it is probably on par with Seafood City right across the street. The major differences are 1) Olive Supermarket has a smaller seafood section, 2) it's slightly smaller overall, and 3) Cube Tea Studio is attached to it. Otherwise I feel that the prices, selection, and quality are about the same. Previously, I always preferred Seafood City (if I didn't want to make the trek out to Pan Asia). Now if I have a craving for boba before/during/after grocery shopping, I will go to Olive Supermarket. Great job putting a decent boba place in the building!

This establishment is absolutely and clearly fullfills the stereotype of Asain-Americans not wanting/liking/respecting African-Americans. Everytime I go there the older cashier spits in the trash can before she checks me out and spits when I am finished. I asked my sister in-law was that common/normal (native of Japan). She said it is a sign of hatred/disrespect/dislike/etc. Wow!!!! Take my money and spit?!? Wow?!?!? I am going back Jay's on So. Grand or United Provisions. They respect the customer. Customer first, money second. Happy customers refer more customers, become returning customers and spend more money.

This is the best Asian supermarket you can get in town. They have a wide variety of everything. You can pretty much get anything you want here. I really like the buns and breads they sell in front of the checkout counters. They're super delicious.

I usually go here once a month or so for pork belly and bulk spices. It is somewhat of a buyer's beware store with certain items but all in all I don't think it's "that" bad. Yes as others have noted there is a strong odor. Bare in mind there's a difference between a best by,sell by, and expiration date. So that "expired" bag of rice and other dry items, jar, and canned goods are likely and usually fine. Their produce section has a good variety and is always nice and fresh. I exercise more discretion with the frozen goods and personally do buy any of the seafood. My rating is mostly for the seafood department due to the over crowded tanks with many dead fish at the bottom when I usually go in and the floor is usually very wet. Over all it's a good place to buy a wide variety of Asian, other international items and bulk spices. It's not the most clean store around so I'd say if you can handle the smell(you do get use to it the longer you're there) and exercise discretion when buying certain items then go for it. If the cleanliness of the store, smell, and other things are an issue that's very understandable and I'd recommend you avoid putting yourself through a poor experience.

Waitress/hostess....younger girl I believe. Had an extremely bad attitude. Looks like we inconvenienced her phone time when we walked in. I guess Facebook and snapchat are more important than customer service nowadays. Sat down, had to ask for a menu, was basically thrown at us on the table. Before I did anything rash and rude I took a deep breath and walked out. Got an eye roll as we left. I did and continue not to recommend this to anyone. Even ppl i see walking in. Cant really give you a review on the food but if you like horrible customer service with dirty tables and floors ENJOY!

Inexpensive with a wide variety of Asian produce, desserts, snacks, staples, and fish.

We bought this bottle of rice wine from olive supermarket for cooking. The smell of it resembles industrial alcohol and it absolutely inedible. This is most likely a bottle of fake wine and is absolutely disgusting

This place is somewhat hard to find as it is attached to a grocery store, I've heard good things about it so I wanted to give it a shot! (And get groceries while I was at it) Sweet and Sour Beef This dish was recommended to me by a friend. It was wonderful at first, very crunchy very savory coded in a nice sweet sauce. However, after about 15 to 20 minutes it became a Gelatinous. And unfortunately after that it became inedible, but the flavors were there in the beginning. Black bean noodles. Really nothing special here. The pieces of meat and potatoes were very small in comparison to the amount of noodles. The noodles did have a good springy bite to them though

Terrible attitude from the waitresses the moment we stepped in. Extremely impatient and rude. The worst part: We discovered a sticker still stuck to a sliced-up red bell pepper in one of our dishes, and when we questioned the waitress about it, she exclaimed that the restaurant doesn't wash any of its vegetables and told us to “deal with it and stop acting surprised.” Will not be going back.
