This is the most authentic japanese restaurant i have ever went to in st. Louis
I got delivery and the food came at still a hot temperature. However, it gave me food poisoning.
Food was excellent and service was amazing
We went on a Sunday for dinner. The first thing I noticed was how DIRTY the place was. Probably why the place was poorly lit. Every surface was sticky. The floors, tables, chairs, and the shared condiments on the table were sticky and gross. The bathroom was also disgusting. Explains why there’s only 1 light in the bathroom and it’s by the sink. You’re basically peeing in the dark. I even had trouble find the lock on the bathroom door. The sink and faucet were gross and dust and hair was everywhere. The food was mediocre at best. The flavor was eh, the presentation was eh. Would not go back
Absolutely lovely place, service was phenomenal!
The Chicken Katsu Ramen and Curry chicken steam buns were incredible! Definitely worth the drive hour and a half drive. Can't wait to have some more!
Solid price and the pork katsu is absolutely delicious and the side that comes with salad and soup.
It would be nice if they can server a thicker fattier pork katsu maybe as special.
I went with a group of 4 and it was great! The menu may had been kind of written funky but thats okay. The food tasted delicious and the service was great. A nice quiet atmostphere too!
I’m a Japanese. The foods are little bit different from Japanese restaurants but I actually feel Japanese Izakaya atmosphere. I’m satisfied with good restaurant employees.
If you can prepare draft beers and highballs, your restaurant should be more authentic Japanese restaurant. I’ll come back again.
Amazing food. It's not very pricey. We go at least once a week! Also the $50 a month ramen program is great for the everyday visitor!
When I first arrived to my college campus, me and my friends ate dinner at G-San. I was pretty skeptical at first, but once I stepped in I immediately loved the k-pop music meshed with anime vibe. It was the feeling of pure happiness and to wind down from classes. I enjoyed my time there, the food was amazing, so was the staff workers. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to ramen lovers, the soup base is immaculate. Bonus: the portion size equates with price.
Restaurantji Recommends
The waitress was super kind and helpful. I love the fried eggplant tempura.
Great food and experience. Katsu was really good and ramen too!
Strange experience today.I have been to this restaurant over 10 times but todays trip was a disaster. Service was horrible and the food was cold. I also had to pay for something I took one bite of.
This is one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to! Their karaage doesn’t taste like authentic Japanese fried chicken at all—it’s dry, flavorless, and has a hard, rough coating. The spicy sauce is even more disappointing; it has a strange flavor that’s simply inedible! If you’re looking for a good place to eat, I strongly recommend avoiding this one!

I’ve always wanted to try authentic ramen and wanted the experience, the atmosphere, the vibe, and the incredible taste and I can’t look anywhere else except G-San if I’m in Missouri! I had the Spicy Pork Katsu Ramen and it was to die for! Everything about this local restaurant, from the sweet waitress, to the music and decoration, to the food made with homestyle cooking, oh this place will always bring me back. ??
