“We had a beautiful wedding for 80 at The Venue at Stockton Lake, and Hog Tide Bar-B-Que catered the event. We chose them simply by googling bar-b-que places in the area and loved the food when we met with them for a consultation. They showed up right on time to the wedding, and they were all so friendly and professional. The food was attractively displayed and was hot and delicious! They cleaned up quickly and left the Venue kitchen better than when they arrived. I should mention that most of my brothers and sisters live out of state, and when they come to Kansas City, they always want to try a different Bar-B-Que place. It's a thing with them for the last 15 years, and then they critique it like they are food critics or something. My brother-in-law said this was probably the best bar-b-que he had ever had in his life. I had many guests talk about the food and how great it was, and where did we get that? My other brother talked about how moist the smoked chopped chicken was, and the chopped brisket was supreme. The baked beans and macaroni and cheese was also a big hit, and the corn bread melted in your mouth. Guest after guest brought up the great food as they said good night. The wedding was just as we hoped it would be: elegant, welcoming, and a great night for our friends and family. Hog Tide Bar-B-Que helped make that happen, and we are so glad we went with Hog Tide Bar-B-Que! I should also had the price was more than fair!!!”

“WOW the cashew or sweet and sour lunch special during the week is under $7. I tried the General chicken and when asked how spicy, I chose medium. It was the perfect heat as it was not overly spicy. There is a good amount of ginger in the dish, but I'm a big fan of ginger and enjoyed the General Chicken. Building is a little run down, but I would definitely come back for lunch.”

“We absolutely adore this restaurant gem. We just got take away service and everything was sooo good. I love the soups at the restaurant, especially the spicy beef vegetable soup. It really hits the spot! Tonight I got the sushi roll and they have so many choices. The Lai Lai sushi roll. It was terrific with a kick. My husband got the cashew chicken and they provided extra sauce. The milky shrimp is a very special item available during their evening service. Usually, we come in during the lunch buffet. There are plenty of good choices with a special salad bar and good desserts alongside. They also have an ice cream machine, which is a bonus bonus to us. The decor is tasteful and well done. The bathrooms are always clean and kept well. The staff is a attentive and personable. We have eaten here quite a few times now and have never been disappointed. The price is affordable. Give it a try! It's one of our favorite Chinese restaurants in the area including Springfield.Hats off the management and staff. And no, we are not related to anyone there. Ha!”

“Update-I have always loved their fajitas, until today. Historically, the fajitas came out sizzling with little to no oil. Today they were doing the backstroke in oil. Nasty and unhealthy. I always got chicken fajitas as they were a healthy choice. Not so anymore, too much oil. Downgrading to 1 star because the fajitas are no longer a healthy choice due to the oil.”
