“We enjoyed another fabulous authentic Mexican dinner last week! The hot sizzling Pollo Cancun with cheese melted over shrimp, and chicken was wonderful!! Normally, I enjoy the Taco Salad in a Fried shell, my favorite, but wanted to explore the shrimp 🍤 and Chicken served on a sizzling oven plate. The Shrimp and Chicken with mushrooms far surpassed my expectations. Best of all, I talked to Scott and meet Sergio with the El Tio Pepe family all there helping and smiling. Thank you, again. El Tio Pepe family!! Great to see you always! P.S. Try the Churros served with chocolate sauce and cajeta, Mexican caramel. Delicious!“

Cheese baby, cheese!

I came here willingly for one reason, and only one reason: I saw someone's picture of a dish called Alhombre and had to try it. Think of it like this...they throw a handful of pieces of all of their meats (plus bacon) on a platter and then smother it is cheese sauce. Yep, kinda like a garbage pizza but made of Americanized Mexican food. The list included chicken, steak, fish, bacon and somehow a couple of shrimps even though they weren't listed on the menu as being part of the dish. There were some vegetables in there too but the dish could have used a bit more. Everything was cooked properly and very flavorful even without that luscious blanket of cheese laid over the top. Tortillas on the side along with the ubiquitous rice & beans.

We started with chips and salsa but the main event was the most memorable...until dessert arrived. The thing I love about flan is the drizzle of caramel sauce that usually accompanies the custard on the plate. There's never enough to allow a little bit with each bite. Not usually. Not ever - until this plate of flan arrives and it was absolutely swimming in caramel sauce (see picture). I was stuffed to the gills but actually contemplated ordering another one just to see if it would look the same. I held off but will certainly return if for no other reason than to have another flan.“

While my husband and I highly recommend the street tacos, my mother-in-law got the tamales and said they were “the best tamales ever!” We adore the staff here as well. Juan “Paco” is our FAVORITE! He is so sweet and kind. He remembered us the second we walked through the door! You can tell they love what they do there. Of course, don’t forget to grab a dessert (or 2!) while you’re there! The flan is my favorite, my husband loves the pina colada tres leches and then my kids love the red velvet cake!“

“I was stationed in Texas, and this place has the absolute BEST Tex-Mex/Mexican food north of Texas by far! The Margheritas can use a little help, but the food....lawd Jeezus!! Solid A+ for these guys and gals!!

“The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars was due to the male cashier at this location. I had quite a few teenage boys that were indecisive but respectful. I was informing the cashier male what all each child as well as myself had ordered. Instead of him listening he decided to input what he wanted into the system and ended up over charging me for something. In addition, I was inquiring about a military discount, he had no interest in helping or doing what he could do to honor a veteran.
On the other hand, a young lady name Diamond went ABOVE AND BEYOND the customer service expectations. She was the only one that greeted us upon entry. She made sure she got fresher ingredients to serve us, she managed to help and assist each of the teenagers even though they did not know what they wanted to order. In addition, once I came to her with me being over charged, she apologized on the male cashier behalf and corrected the situation and gave me the necessary items that I was charged for instead of what I was given. She also came by and asked if the food was good and if we needed anything further. She was truly amazing even under pressure and I really appreciate that. The young man that was in the register, he actually went to his car for 10 minutes and came back smelling like marijuana and did not wash his hands which was rather disrespectful, which I’m sure is why he could not focus on what I was telling him to charge me for.“

“We were VERY skeptical after having read through the reviews but we gave it a shot and it turned out well. The kid making the food was very nice and respectful and the birria bowl was good. There wasn't a TON of meat but you can get more for an upcharge. The only reason I may do that next time is because I had so many toppings, which isn't a bad thing. All and all it was a good experience. We will definitely be back. The only thing that would make it better is if they brought back the Mexican gumbo (now THAT was amazing!) :-)“
