Tried this place for the first time. Nice atmosphere and customer service. The to go order wait wasn't long. However the food was disappointing. The dressing and yams were mediocre. The fried chicken was the biggest fail, it wasn't fresh at all. It was dry and tasted like it may have been fried a day or two ago. Surprisingly dissatisfying.
The food was soulful and seasoned to perfection, the folks were extremely nice and family like... Yams 10, deeply candied. the ox tails 10, large and forks off the bone. Cornbread dressing flavorful and moist. Mac and cheese, cheesy and good. Collard greens were on point and tender. I'm coming back... hidden gem has been found.
From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and the comforting aroma of home-cooked goodness. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the mac and cheese creamy and rich, and the collard greens had just the right kick. Every bite tasted like it was made with love.
