I called 5x to see if there would be a wait for my spouse and I. Answered the phone twice and said hold on but never clicked over and didn't answer the other 3x. Waiter handled a table of 16 which he did ok but too many people in my opinion and chefs was awesome. Food was great but if you have a shell fish allergy then there isn't much to choose from.
My family and I went here this weekend. While everything was good, I did find one thing that was very disturbing. We ate at the hibachi table. Beside us was a young man and his son. They were very friendly, and stated that it was their first time there. Side note that is important to my review is that they were black. This is important because the chief came out asked for everyone's order, then proceeded to talk to me and my family asking us a lot of small talk questions...
Whether we’re in Starkville or Columbus UMI’s is our go to place, whether we’re having a light lunch or want dinner and a show! We love it and the kids love it even more! The staff is always so wonderful, the chefs are awesome, and the food is delicious and we always leave with to go boxes and extra yumyum sauce. We’ve never had bad service or a bad meal at UMI’s.
