We were there this evening 6/19/2026 and I must say the young man who assisted our party of 17 was amazing. He was very polite and greatly appreciative. I wish I could remember his name but young african american with shorter dreads. The cashier was also very polite. I wish we had more of this younger generation who act like this

I had such a wonderful dining experience at Movie Star Restaurant & Catering. It’s such a homey, inviting spot, and you can really taste the love that goes into their Southern-style comfort food—everything feels like it came straight from a cherished family recipe. The atmosphere is totally unique with all the antiques displayed, making it a fun place to look around while you enjoy your meal. The staff was incredibly welcoming, which just added to the cozy, relaxed vibe. We stopped in Hattiesburg for a night on our way to Natchez and happened across this place while searching hidden gems to eat. Locals were right. It doesn't look like much outside but inside is like a huge family owned cracker barrel. The food was amazing. We went on steak night. I don't know if I'd call that steak but it was really good. It was more like a tender piece of roast. They had an excellent selection and some of the best fried chicken I've ever had.

Friday catfish. There was a few choices, I got catfish and it was a little dry. But it was good anyway and the server was awesome. You have to seat yourself.
