Tiny place with a very old school diner type feel. I can see it being chaotic when it's super busy but it wasn't bad this morning when we went.

Wife and I both got the Hub City Hash and it was extremely good. Highly recommend for a good breakfast.

Once, this spot was tied for my top breakfast spot in Hattiesburg. Over the past year or so, the quality of both food and service have become very inconsistent. I still have a great experience occasionally when I eat here, but the inconsistency is a BIG deterrent when it comes to restaurants for me. This is now maybe my 5th favorite breakfast/brunch spot in town, and there aren't many to choose from that I know of.

The lox has made my partner and I sick the last few times we got it. The meat had a bit of a slimy texture and odd taste each time. Also, sometimes there is too much cream cheese, sometimes there is more tomato than salmon, sometimes it's perfect. Sometimes the bagels are burnt. That said, I have since switched up my order. Today I got a breakfast bagel. The tomato was completely on one half of the bagel, the cheese on the other, the egg didn't cover the bagel, and the whites of the scrambled egg were a bit too runny. The portions of the things on the bagel felt overall very small.

The new employees, save a couple, do not bring the same energy to the place that the old ones did. It feels like I am annoying them by ordering sometimes. I used to tip more, but the recent service has led to a decrease in that from me. I still tip a dollar or so because I get it, it's a job. I just long for the consistency and feeling of welcome the old staff gave me.

That said, the slightly older man who works grill makes incredible food. In addition, one of the young new employees is very sweet and personable and brought back some of that welcome feeling, so it definitely is not reflective of the whole staff. A couple of the other staff members are nice enough that I won't fault them, either.

Also, the bagels are often delicious as a standalone. Buying a bag of them is recommended. Coffee is likewise good and strong.

In conclusion, I went from coming here sometimes twice a week to only coming here when my other options are exhausted. If you do come, get a bagel and prepare for the vibe to be weird sometimes, lol. The music is usually good, so that at least helps!

Such a cool little spot to enjoy a delicious breakfast. The meat lovers omelette is my go-to, but I believe everything on the menu is great. Also, at my last visit they played Summer Soft by Stevie Wonder and Freddie’s Dead by Curtis Mayfield on the aux, which are the two best songs on their respective albums, so also great music taste. I love the diner atmosphere

Really inconsistent, and you can potentially get different portion sizes due to this. For some reason they use pickled jalapeños on the cheddar jalapeño bagel and this speaks loudly in a bad way about their culinary perspective.

If you want to wait for your food for 30-45 minutes, this is your place! To add some more, they forgot my food and I had to wait another 15 minutes. Meanwhile, my kids are done eating and this is supposed to be our lunch together. Way to ruin a day!!! I promised myself to NEVER EVER come back to this horrible place! Staff are shitty and needs to undergo customer service orientation! Will not recommend this place! My food is bland and needs salt and pepper!

I’ve been wanting to try this spot since we moved to Hattiesburg and finally made it today! The fresh bagel with eggs, bacon, and cheese was fantastic, definitely the highlight. The pancakes were okay, just get the bagels! Cute, cozy spot. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

I love Southbound. The breakfast hash is great and so are the bagels. I like the atmosphere, too or sitting outside on a nice morning.

Waited in line an hour just to order. It took another 30 minutes to get my bagel. The food was good and i understand they were kind of busy, but the wait time just ruined the experience.
