The Porter Public House is a local bar with a nice atmosphere. They serve house made brews and burgers, along with a selection of guest taps. The Lost Rudder beer was a favorite for one visitor. The Buffalo chicken salad and Dog burger were delicious, while the meatloaf was just okay. Sides like garlic mashed potatoes were hit or miss. Recently, a burger of the month called "The Big 'In" impressed a guest, elevating a local favorite to a new level, and there is hope it will stay on the menu permanently. The Mystic beer was recommended, even for those who don’t usually drink beer. The pub is welcoming, with friendly staff and great music, making for a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is cordial, and the vibe is cool. Live music may be a bit loud for some, but overall, it’s a fun spot worth visiting in Hattiesburg.
