This soul food restaurant is my favorite place to eat in Hattiesburg! I go once a week when I can. You won't find more consistent quality anywhere. The service is always fantastic, and you also won't find kinder and more caring staff. The people who work there always brighten my day. Very cool, funky atmosphere (loved the lighting made of galvanized tubs). The staff are very friendly. The food was excellent. The sweet potatoes and mac n cheese was delicious, but I especially loved the Lima beans cooked with bacon. The fried catfish was perfectly seasoned. My entree, three sides and a sweet tea was under $14. I'll definitely go back.

The location is close to William Carey, so I'm able to just hop in the car and head over for lunch. If you don't want the main dish of the day, they always have alternatives just as delicious. My favorite is the chicken orzo dish they have started to bring in. The orange fluff is good, and I always have to get the lima beans. Every plate comes with a sweet tea, which is a plus! Can't beat their style of home cooking ?I will say choose the roll over the cornbread ?
